I see the city is placing ITS signs in the right of way. When it was other folk's signs they had an employee pull them. I guess they live by different rules that us common folks.

Your tax dollars at work
For the First Time in 32 Years . . . Pickerington voters will be asked to raise the income tax rate to continue to provide funds for an excellent police force, park and recreation opportunities, street improvements and other critical City services. ► The other options considered to maintain our City services, such as a police property tax levy or a property tax levy for street maintenance, would have had a negative impact on every household ?– this solution mainly impacts the people who are employed at Pickerington businesses. ► It is estimated that over 80% of our residents would NOT be impacted by the proposed increase primarily due to the fact they would receive a credit for the taxes they pay if they live in Pickerington and work in another City with an income tax rate higher than 1.5%. ► The Ohio Department of Taxation reports that our community is among the very few cities that have been able to maintain a 1% tax rate. Since most of our residents are paying a rate of at least 1.5% where they work, our proposed increase will NOT raise their total income tax. ► The proposed tax issue will NOT impact those in our community who are retired or are on fixed incomes. Social Security, military, pension, dividend and interest income would continue to be exempt from the City?’s income tax. ► The passage of this issue will help to determine the future of our community -- the voters must approve any change to our income tax rate. City Council chose this solution as the fairest way to generate the required revenues to maintain our current level of services and to address our long-term infrastructure needs, such as street maintenance and storm sewers. ► When you vote on November 4th, please remember that the income tax increase will be used to support: ► parks and recreation ► bike paths and sidewalks ► police services ► street maintenance and improvements ► debt payments for projects completed in prior years |

What part of..........?
To the next poster up - great job with the coding. Need a job? To the first two posters, which part of stupid do you find you most closely resemble?? Issue 14 is a CITY issue so of course the CITY can place signs in CITY owned space that candidates for offices are not allowed to. Don't the school put signs on their property when they are running an issue? Get a grip. |
