The income tax issue failed.
Will the police force really be reduced?
What else will really happen?
Is any of it (the reductions) good?

Budget season
If you look on the city website you'll see the budget has been discussed in length. I'm sure before the end of the year you'll know as we all will what gets cut.

''If it fails we're going to take a look at our budget and begin to cut services,'' Hansley said.
''We'll continue our hiring freeze and begin cutting other positions and services.''
Hansley said the first things to go will be services the city doesn't have to provide.
''The first thing council will consider is contributions to other agencies we don't have to do,'' Hansley said, ''things such as the Pickerington Senior Center and the YMCA.
''There are also things in snow plowing we can cut pretty easily,'' Hansley said.

Kill the JEDD NOW!!!
It sounds very threatening coming from the City Manager. Maybe we should also remind them that there are council elections this coming year.
I would also add to the Manager's list of cuts and that is to scrap those JEDD talks and take the lead of Bloom Township. They saw the trap they were about to enter and they backed out. I am reading that they are fears that the city will be on the hook to help fund the township legal team if some outside entity tries to annex into the JEDD area. I think this was the sticking point from Bloom Township. I have heard that we would be on the hook for future infrastructure. If in the very near future we can't put police on the streets of Pickerington then why in the hell would we be sharing our tax dollars with the township? Somebody needs to grow a brain.
I think there are a few on council that have bought into this cooperation crap. That is why they were asking for three times what they needed in the most recent income tax increase issue.
