Let's try again
Since what appears below is getting increasingly hard to follow, let me try to pull the postings back to the left margin, if I can.
My apologies for incorrectly referring to MISTER Anonymous as Mrs. Dubyah. Given the information posted, it was an easy leap to make. Plus, I had this picture in my pea brain of the Mrs. huddled in front of her computer angrily typing away with the other hens standing over her shoulder clucking to her to write this or add that. Kind of cute but I digress.
So a synopsis of what we have covered so far. The City won?’t pay for additional advertising in spite of it being in the best interest of its Citizens and Taxpayers? (Yes I know I always capitalize Citizens, Taxpayers and Voters, but since we?’re supposedly the boss and they all work for us, then why not capitalize?) The City states cost as one determining factor. Also, the City states that the Charter and ORC say they only have to advertise in the Lancaster E-G. So again, something minor and not truly cost prohibitive, in light of other highly publicized expenditure blunders, and again in the best interest of the Citizens won?’t be carried out despite the pleas of the Citizens/Voters/Taxpayers. The Taxpayers have little to no input as to how we want our money spent and when we ask for it to be spent on advertising of our public meetings, the City says NO. Is the tail wagging the dog here?
OK, for any of the City employees that might be reading this, I guess I?’ll have to start a referendum petition to have the City Charter revised to include the advertising in all local media. Do you have the correct forms for me to use that have all the right verbiage on hand? And can someone on Lockville Road give me the nickel tour as to how to properly exercise the petition process? It doesn?’t appear that you will consider the Citizen/Voter/Taxpayer?’s voices any other way.
The way things are going, wouldn?’t it be easier on the Citizen?’s shoes to just set up a couple of petition signing booths around town. Oh wait, how about this? We?’ll just convert the old Duke/AMOCO station into a drive through petition office. Drive up, get a cup of coffee, sign 8 or 10 petitions and head on down the road.
Come on City! Is this such a demanding request to just better advertise our public meetings? Can?’t you just give something back once in a while instead of just taking all the time? Does every request we have of you, the people we elected to represent us have to be a battle of referendums, petitions and lawsuits? Can?’t you just once do something nice for us?
