NO to levy, reduce TIFs

Posted in: PATA
If Pickerington had not given our money to the developers in the form of TIFs we would not be facing more levys. It is estimated that Pickerington has TIFed 3.5 million dollars away from the schools and hundreds of thousands from the Fire Department. Sorry to the schools and fire department, but you are the ones that need to get off your butts and do some serious campaigning for the people. Is it really easier to ask the people for more money than asking city council to stop squandering it? How much levy would be needed if they had not TIFed away 3.5 MILLION dollars? I see the levys as a bank account that the city of Pickerington can use to entice developers to annex into the city, thus making your jobs more demanding and more expensive to maintain at current levels.
A no to the levy vote is not enough, we must all push for 'no more give-aways'.

Get to the real problem

While it may be true that voting for the renewal levy won?’t raise your taxes (depending on who you talk to), voting against it will reduce them. Then you can save the money you are not paying to use towards the new levy we will be asked to approve in November. You know, save a little now and pay a lot later.

Wake up Pickerington! It is time to root out the problem that causes the schools to have their hat in their hand knocking on your door every other election or so. Pickerington city council will do anything, and I mean anything to keep the developers streaming into the city and keep the city growing towards their eventual goal of 25% per year.

Recall the bastard$. Get them out before they sell out everything. Get rid of the council. Get rid of the city manager. Get rid of the law director who substantiates every dirty deal they put together. Get rid of the ?“city engineer?” and hire one who isn?’t getting filthy rich off back room deals and ?“unbid?” contracts. Get rid of the mayor.

If you want to really make an effect with your ?“abusive?”, to cite Parker, referendum and initiative petitions, do one that will have there REAL desired impact and oust these Charlatans once and for all. You can usually kill a snake by chopping its head off. If it is a snake pit you are looking at, chop off all their heads.

Vote ''No'' on Everything!!!

P.A.T.A.:

I'll take my chances and perhaps pay more later. A ''Yes'' vote for the school and Violet Township fire levy is a ''Yes'' vote for Pickerington cronies to siphon more funds from the schools, VTFD and area taxpaying residents. Developers and lawyers are lining up on I-70 right now ?– sitting in traffic - for their turn to grab a million dollars of OUR money!

P.A.T.A. what are you doing here? I thought you folks were supposed to be protecting our wallets. You've practically endorsed every levy ever put forth by anyone. And when you don't want to support a levy because it somehow would make you a target in the local papers, you say P.A.T.A. is not approving or disapproving of the levy (neutral). So all we get out of P.A.T.A. is levy support or silence. To heck with the schools and the BOE. If they don't have the wherewithal to stand in front of City Hall and yell ?“enough is enough?”, then they don't get my support. I hope these levies go down in FLAMES!!!!!

While everyone is being politically correct and trying not to be an easy target, Hughes, Maxey and Bushman are flushing our money down the toilet. Someone get a backbone on this webpage...

Write your checks to flush

If the city continues to give away incentives to developers of reduce tap fees or free sewer and water lines and it is able to double the capacity of the sewer plant, when sewer and water capacity are available from The County and Canal Winchester for all the lands under current annexation grabs, Look out as you will have to write a check each time you flush your own toilet. You will pay for these freebees. They continue to state that this development will help our schools...well that may be true in 30 years when all the TIF's and tax abatements they are giving away expire. Where will you be in 30 years. It is time to call ReMax people.
