Correct me if I'm wrong, but....

Does the page 1, left-hand column of the September 9, 2002 edition of the SE Messenger state that Greg Sanders of the Ohio EPA says that Joyce Bushman is a liar? A bold faced, down in the mud, honest to goodness, top of her game prevaricator?

OK, to be fair to Ms. McCain, she didn?’t say he said that it was Joyce directly ?– he said the City. But if you read the articles in the other papers, it was either Joyce or Frank who is being called a liar.

So, if the OEPA comes out in the press stating that Joyce and/or the City are liars, then can it be true that they lie about other things?

Can the damage being done to this City be corrected? Can newly elected officials in 2003 bring us from the brink of disaster?

Doesn?’t it make you just pleased as punch that this ?“little band?” of Council members had to push through the reappointment of Joyce Bushman for a time frame past many of their ?“elected?” terms. All in a manner to beat any opportunity for the then council-elect Mr. Shaver to ask any questions or make any statements. Of course this is just another fine example of the use of Emergency Legislation.
1 or 2 at fault

Jeez Maverick me thinks the table from Mr. Garner that is posted about sewage overflows is telling, too. It wasn?’t in the papers, but maybe it should be.
Do all those volumes of sewage flowing into the creek over the plants capacity, catch the Service Director as suspect? Maybe he just does the bidding of his superiors?

Public records review

Not long ago I helped with many hours of time in going over a multitude of information for a public information review of City invoices and records. In that process was a portion of the information that I noted and documented during my comments during the Ohio Environmental Agencies hearing regarding the de minimus exclusion to allow Pickerington Utilities to discharge 3.5 million gallons per day from their wastewater treatment plant. I?’ve posted my OEPA remarks for anyone to view on this web site. Hundreds of thousand of dollars in combined funds from legal fees, annexations costs, free / reduced tap fees, etc. are documented. These funds were paid out of the utility budgets. These are monies not used for the operation, maintenance, and improvement of the utility systems.

One of the additional ?“found?” pieces of information was an invoice, which was from the general fund, for the City Manager and City Service Director for ?“car detailing?” paid out of the general budget.

As the City Manager pointed out, I?’m not a city resident, however it is of some interest that taxpayer dollars went for car detailing of these 2 public servants.

You be the judge.
