For such a ''small'' town there sure has been a lot of OAF?’s of offices taken.
I hereby create a new election process to identify the biggest, best, most oafish ''OAF'' of them all awards to be presented annually to the ''OAFster''.
It would be such a proud recognition for some after all the competition is fierce!
Since the number of candidates is so high there should be recognition for the runner-ups also.
Well it is September...go ahead and start casting your vote for the ''OAFster'' of 2002 now.
P.S. This award can be given to anyone holding a public office. City, County, School Board, Township etc.

Fox for OAF of the Year
I nominate Brian ''I don't need no stinkin'' vote'' Fox. He is worse than the rest becaue he pretends to ''share'' the concerns of the citizens. Never mind his words, Brian is as big a toady as the rest of them. Think about the following:
1. Do you remember a time when Brian has voted against the wish of a developer.
2. What type of person would engineer the theft of the coutny republican party and nominate himself as leader when he wasn't even well liked enough by his fellow republicans to be voted as his precinct's representative. Oh well, when you can have a local developer count the votes and the rules are made by your pet lawyer who has no regard for the law you can do anything you want.
3. What type of Nazi thug would only allow particpation of local , loyal Republican clubs in the county party on the condition that they turn over their money to him. What next, Bri: oaths of loyalty to Mein Brian and payment for the right to vote in elections.
4. What type of simpering toady would refuse to perform his duty to pass on to the board of elections charter amendemnts that had been legally signed by the citizens of the community. I don't care what excuse you have, you and the other toadies broke the law, plain and simple and should be thrown out of office and the ''lawyer'' who gave you the advice that you didn't have to obey the law should be brought before whatever disciplianry committee lawyers have (or do they just throw themselves into tanks of sharks and if you survive you are allowed to continue practicing).
5. Worse yet, this morally bankrupt slimeball aspires to higher public office. Can you imagine anything more horrifying than having the same leadership that ran Pickerington into the ground run the State of Ohio. All of us might even have to move to Michigan if that happens.
My runner up candidate would be Lee ''strip mall'' Gray. Inagine the fianncial genius it took to get a fifth rate pizza shop to turn enough profits to allow him to buy a multi-million dollar shopping mall. YEAH, RIGHT.
On the other hand, kudos should be given to Lou Postage who is now transmorgifying right before our eyes into some wierd hybrid of Jabba the Hutt and the Mexican sergeant in the old Zorra show. My only fear is that the slimy old geek will soon not be satsified with biting the heads of chickens and will start on our children. On the other hand, the old geezer has apparently clogged enough of his carotid artery with pepperoni grease that he is now longer capable of saying anything that anyone can possibly understand). Although this is amusing at a certain level, one must remmber that he might actually be trying to publicly confess AND WE ARE MISSING IT,

Been there and back
After reading the Pickerington Times-Sun and the article on the 911 ceremony I strongly second Bruce Rookstool?’s nomination with the one Randall L. Hughes and Oaf of the year. This paper gave him front page picture shedding a tear for those that have gone before us.
Mr. Hughes claims that his father was killed in a ?“routine military?” exercise. I have heard him say his father was a barber, and a pilot during the Korean War.
First there are no routine exercises in the military. Every mission is deadly serious. When they order you to go no matter what the conditions are you go. If Mr. Hughes?’ father was a fighter pilot in the Korean War then young Mr. Hughes wasn?’t old enough to know his father. Normally this subject should be off limits to even talk about, but when you have a phony two bit politician using the death of a loved one to garner sympathy for their own cause and then I think that is the lowest one can sink too.
Has Mr. Hughes ever faced a smoke filled room with smoke so thick that you can?’t see your partner that is two feet away? Has Mr. Hughes ever followed his comrades into a burning building or structure with only a fire hose that acts as your life line? Has Mr. Hughes ever entered a burning building with only the intense heat to guide your way to the fire? Believe me, once you have done that, then you know what our firemen face on a daily basis. Why do these men and women enter these structures? It certainly isn?’t to save the building is it? Normally they enter to save a human being and even sometimes to save a family pet.
Has Mr. Hughes ever been shot at? Even though he remarked at a council meeting that, ?“He would like to stake out the woods above the Sycamore Park and wing the vandals that were vandalizing the shelter houses in our parks and let them lay there all night.?” Do you want your High School Student to be taught this kind of vigilantly justice? Yet if the Mayor of our City makes comments like this what does he expect of the City?’s Police Force? Can he stand by and allow the then Mayor Lee Gray let a drunk go and still praise the former Mayor for being a friend to this drunk? Which is more damaging to our society a drunk on Route 256 with no insurance, no registration, and driving a truck with a license tag registered to a Ford Mustang, or some kids spray painting a shelter house? Would Mr. Hughes have shed a tear if that freed drunk would have killed one of his sons that July night on 256? My point here is that that officer walked up to that car not knowing who was in the Pickup Truck because that license tag was registered to another vehicle. How did that officer know what to expect when the driver rolled down the window? Would Randall have shed a tear for our slain officer if the man shot the officer that night?
