Hi everyone...
You want to see all three TV stations and WTVN, the Dispatch, Gazette and possibly other statewide media out here?
Here's the best way. Get ''Recall'' signs posted everywhere you can. That's number one.
Then, be sure you have everyone interested in conducting a recall on the same page, preaching the same message and reasons for this action.
In short, be prepared to give strong, clear, coherent soundbites to members of the media when they come out to cover the story.
The visual of all the signs posted in yards or at businesses will be a strong lure for the TV/Print/Radio newspeople.
Then, send out a quick release announcing your action, giving a contact name and number to coordinate coverage, and be sure to do follow-up with all the stations/papers.
Not only will this get major media covering the issue--controversy is irresistible to them--but the local papers that have been soft-shoeing the story to date will be shamed in to covering the story properly.
The media does not like to cover what they consider disorganized ''whiners''...They do like to score on what they consider the ''big story,'' and this is the best way to do it.
Mr. Hackworth, if you are out there, we have been communicating by e-mail lately. Just so you know, I am very capable of helping you all pull this off, and getting you the attention you need to make it a success. The free publicity will be priceless.
