Many people are getting geared up for a recall of many of our elected officials. Information is being disseminated through various publications highlighting the section of the City Charter that deals specifically with recall efforts to help grease the wheels of this process. Names have been spoken as to which positions are the objectives for recall. Various citizens have volunteered their efforts to circulate petitions to begin the recall process. Various citizens have offered money to support a recall effort. The only thing lacking is the actual commencement of the petition drive. Will that or will that not occur?

Well, actually, there is something else lacking. Have the citizens involved in this grass roots effort agreed on who they think will be replacements?

I applaud all those who are spearheading this initiative. It has been a long time in coming and I heartily agree that we cannot wait until next November. Because if you look at the damage these offenders have done to the Pickerington community as a whole over the last year and project and even escalate it over the next year, who in their right mind would run for office and be saddled with a dying community that may not be able to survive?

Choose Carefully.......

I think that all or nothing at all is a very emotional response to the state of the City Council.

I think that rather than recalling everyone with the exception of David Shaver, a judicious approach with STRONG replacements is the best option.

Candidates should be ready to step up to the plate & make themselves known. These times call for courage & we should not expect any less.

Well just do it.

You guys have been talking about recall for months now. Well just do it. I have heard you all talk about candidates to step up and fill their recalled shoes. Well where are they. Talk is cheap folks. You can talk this thing to death but until you get people willing to step forward and do the things you are just talking about then that is all it will ever be TALK.

The petitions need a few disclaimers on them but that has been documented here on this web site. No one has stepped forward to circulate the petitions yet.

I know many that talk about a recall have roots based in the Township. Well come on down! It is harder than it looks to get one of these things started. Once you turn the petition in then it will be get the once over by Mapes. Can you get it past Mapes?

Somebody needs to start to work on this very soon or your credibility will suffer for lack action.

I am not supporting it because I am going to vote against everyone that is currently on council need year. I think once you try to remove people from elected positions then you will get reistance going door to door.

who will replace whom?

The charter states that a recalled offical can not occupy the vacated position. Can they pull a Maxey and fill the other councilman's position?
