I invite all of you to make any recommendations
for or against these candidates. You can post these recommendations on this website or may e-mail them to me either through the website provided by the City of Pickerington or to my office at shaverandhoke@prodigy.net. Please avoid personal attacks and speak only to the merits and/or weaknesses of the candidate.
Many of you may be unfamilar with these individuals and may be reluctant to address the merits of a particular individual. I believe it is equally important to provide council with the profile of the ideal candidate. I would welcome these comments also.
It is important that you make your views known. At least one e-mail has been sent to the city asking them not to appoint a particular candidate. I would hate to see this used as a basis for not appointing a person I believe to be extremely well qualified for the position. Accordingly, please utilize the city website, the US Mail and the press to make your views known to the council.
The candidates will all go through the interview process with the Rules Committee. This is composed of Doug Parker, Brian Fox and Craig Maxey. I can, and will, attend as many interviews as possible. I will not, however, have any vote on the name of person to be nominated. Nevertheless, I would be more than happy to speak with any of the candidates. I can be reached at my office at 837-8433.
