Dear Pickeringtoner:
Some of you may have heard there was an election yesterday and that certain ordinances were passed. This is wrong. I have it on high authority (namely Joyce and Daryll) that the so called election is meaningless. Furthermore, our city attorney has evidently determined after consulting with the developers attorneys, that the elections were illegal and that they will sue us for quadrillions and quintillions of real money if we try to enforce any of the new ordinances. The reasons for this are obvious:
1. All of the votes yesterday were by people who live in the township. They came into the city, tied up the real voters and voted in the place of these voters. Indictments will soon be issued.
2. The vote failed to count those plots owned by developers but not yet built upon. After all, if a pair of homeowners get two votes for the single plot they live on, each developer gets two votes per lots that have recived final plat approval but have not yet been built upon. Once this vote is taken into account, the ordinances were defeated.
3. Many people did not say ''Daryll may I'' before voting , thus invalidating their vote.
4. The ballots were printed in English. This is a difficult language for me and many of my friends to understand. This is election fraud.
5. Space aliens used a mindscrambling beam to improperly influence voters. This is nothing to be ashamed of. I myself am often confused and this sure explains a lot, including Lou Postage.
6. The people who voted for these measures look at porn on the internet.
7. On Tuesday, November 12, 2002 a fire destoyed the records at the election board.
8. Using the Brian Weasel-Craig Moxey theory of opposite meaning of political events, the fact that the measures overwhelming lost means we overwhelming won. In fact, Brian tells me this gives us the authority to make him Chariman of the State Republican Party and allows us to boot Shaver off the council and appoint Moxey again, giving him two votes.
9. We are going to rescind the ordinances anyway-nana nana boo boo.
10. I was born in Pickerington, attended high school here and love this city.
For these reasons, we are confident that you agree that the ordinances do not exist. Really.
Where's my new motorcycle.

stop this runaway freight train
Congratulations to Ted Hackworth, Rita Ricketts, Lisa Reade, and the many other people who were so instrumental in passing Issues 17-19 and who have made such a valiant stand at Council meetings recently over the rush to plat new developments. You should be justly proud of the results of the election and of the slowdown in Council activity.
I am concerned that Council will take their typical back door approach and do what they and their builder/developer business partners want. I expect they will do this by having a quick and unannounced meeting out of the public glare in which they will do their business by the emergency approach they have used for the last 2 years to such devastating effect. My question for those of you mentioned above is what evidence do you have that they won't do what they always have done?
I propose again that the only effective means to stop this runaway freight train that ALWAYS STEPS ON THE COMMUNITY is to recall all elected officials except David Shaver. To do this, recall petitions in a correct format with a minimum # of signatures must be properly submitted. To achieve this there must be someone(s) willing to pick up this challenge and spearhead this campaign. The person(s) must live in the City to have credibility, though I believe there are a # of people outside the City that will aid you getting signatures and otherwise.
Before anyone starts this process, I suggest that candidates for the 7 positions I suggest recalling be identified. Additionally, I think it essential the competing candidates should run as a group and put together a Contract with Pickerington that would be similar in ideals to the Contract with America that Newt Gingrich and pals put together and won with in the 1994 Congressional elections. Running as individuals would give the present incumbents the opportunity to try to pick you off one by one or to defeat one or more of the replacement candidates. If all 6 Council candidates other than David aren't replaced, the entire effort will have been for nothing.
If someone doesn't lead this effort it won't happen. If it doesn't happen, Council and the Mayor will insult you, spin the facts, lie to us all, and do what they want, just like they always have. Your recent huge successes will have accomplished absolutely nothing except make you feel good for a day or two and get your names in the paper. IT IS UP TO YOU WHAT HAPPENS FROM HERE. DO YOU HAVE THE DRIVE TO PUSH FORWARD TO ULTIMATE SUCCESS, OR ARE YOU REALLY JUST FLASHES IN THE PAN? CITY OFFICIALS, THEIR SPONSOR BUILDERS/DEVELOPERS, AND YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS ARE WATCHING AND WAITING. IS THERE ONE LEADER OUT THERE PLUS 7 PEOPLE WHO WILL THEN AGREE TO RUN AS PART OF THE CONTRACT WITH PICKERINGTON TEAM? STEP FORWARD NOW OR SUFFER AS THIS COMMUNITY IMPLODES.

I'm in total agreement. As a township resident
I can't vote but I would be willing to assit any
effort to remove the anti pickerington memebers

Don't screw it up now!
Bill and Tim,
It is nice that good old boys like yourself keep calling for a recall. Yet you idiots elected Harry last year and you sit out there in the township real smudge saying it is the City?’s fault. How about, some of us City folks recall Harry and Terry from the trustees. After all they are deeply involved with the 100 Lockville gang. Didn?’t the Pickerington Republican Club endorse Harry? Didn?’t Harry rub ELBOWS with them at the recent fund raiser? Doesn't Harry defend the city's actions? Harry is just waiting until they can knock off Gary. If you think you got problems now wait until that happens. While we are at it let?’s recall Lori Sanders, Wes and the other guy with the rhyming name like Harry but it is Larry. What does it take for you guys to step forward with your recall?
Can you pay your bills if there is no one to sign the checks? If you recall all of these city people who runs the city? If your sewer is backing up whom do you call? This must not be a knee jerk reaction. It must be though out and handled very seriously with careful planning. You must sell this to the voters and believe it taint that easy.
You should pick a few maybe three councilmen and the mayor. The city could still do its business and have a quorum with no emergency legislation. That will be the minimum you can do until next year?’s election. If you run a poorly though out recall campaign and these clowns survive it, they will be even stronger afterwards.
