Follow the yellow brick roads

Watch what Lou says

2/27/03 issue of This Week in Pickerington page A6 ?“Meeting?” Lou Postage suggests (in the context of controlling growth) ?“that the County could control Township growth by limiting sewer & water taps?” He continues ?– ?“If the taps are not available, what can you do??”

Well Lou follow the fingers you are pointing at others to yourself:
1. (middle finger) Have you limited taps? Or have you voted consistently to approve ?“pre-annexation agreements?” that include incentives for tap fee reductions?
2. (ring finger) Have you voted to fund a massive expansion of your water plant and wells in the Pickerington Ponds aquifer?
3. (pinkie finger) Is your Council?’s, and I say YOUR Council, cause they can?’t even follow their obligation and make appointments to vacancies working to limit it?’s plans for a massive expansion of the sewer plant next?

Lou, your antics aren?’t fooling anyone.

Recall by September first

Folks the resistance for a recall was in part because they (council)could appoint themselves back into offce. I have been working with another city resident and I believe the best time is to start the recall on Postage, Fox, Maxey, Wright and Parker by the first week in July. Then turn the petitions in to the city clerk around the last week in August. If Fox and Maxey don't run then don't submit the recall petitions to the city. We could even wait until mid-September and time the recall election on or after the General election in November. This would ensure that Fox and Maxey didn't run and Postage couldn't re-appoint his cronies (if we recalled Postage). They would not would have a quorium until after the first of the year and by then the newly elected people will have been sworn into office.

There is a lot of support in the city for a recall but and there are more than enough people willing to carry petitons. We still need a spokesperson. We tried to find one that lived in the city. I think it is time to consider one that lives in the township and the school district. Now that will be a real commUNITY. Which one of the Mothers or Fathers are going to step forward?

I would even consider people currently living in the city and thinking about moving to the township. Do any of you want to wait one more election cycle? If not you better step up to the plate now!!

Because of legal problems I can't lead the effort. You can't expect Rita Ricketts and or Ted Hackworth to lead this one if you want Hackworth on council. Anyone in town can get their fifteen minutes of fame and fade back into your private lives after November. The community needs you and I wish I could do graphics and It would be pointing a finger at any of you to advance one pace forward.

If you are willing we are ready to move with the recall. Just need a spokesperson and start at the Fourth of July parade.

Fox isn't running

Brian Fox has said he is not running for re-election to council, in fact he is moving closer to Lancaster. Most do believe he thinks he can run for a county wide office and win. I'm sure his recent record in Pickerington will headline his campaign litereature. Those folks in the County need more of the same that we have going on right here don't you think, heck if he is a commissioner, he will just let Joyce annex anything she wants along with Mike Kiger.

A recall would damage his chances in a county wide election and he knows it. That is why his name must be included.
Start what you finish....

I think it's important that once you ask residents to remove any Councilman that you follow through. Regardless if they run or not. Once you get signatures it's not your call to make - ~600 residents will support the recall or not to get it to ballot.

If they do, you need to submit all the names you get adequate signatures on & not pick and choose. If a Councilman's record is such that you do not want to remove him from office then don't. But once you start - you need to finish to maintain credibility with the people you ask to sign the petitions.

Actions speak louder than words - look to their actions to make your choices.
