Conn's Potato Chips
Now let's see The Conn's potato chips is closing its Lancaster Plant and they are looking for a new building in Zanesville. The company claims that they won't move out of Zanesville. Wouldn't Pickerington be very close to half way between Lancaster and Zanesville? So I guess since they say they aren't moving out of Zanesville then maybe we should let the matter alone. What could Pickerington offer that neither Lancaster or Zanesville will offer?
Isn't Conn's Potato chips sold in most store in the Columbus market? Isn't these chips delivered by big box trucks? I believe I purchased gas yesterday at a $1.63 per gallon. So maybe the 60 mile round trip from the 256 exit to the Zanesville exit would save how much in gas money? How about the hour's travel time. Driving which direction saves the company the most money? So just where would they be making most of their deliveries? Z-Town or Picktown/Columbus?
I am sure Ms. Crotty will jump right on this. Oh don't tell them they will need to wait 30 minutes to get on the freeway unless they leave very early in the morning. That's right they do leave early in the morning.
Anyway maybe this kind of business is just too dirty also. Maybe the elites in Pickerington will reject a dirty old chip factory. I wasn't thinking when I realized those potatoes come right out of the ground and they have dirt on them. Maybe next time.
