Parents of Kindergartner's

Grade Reconfiguration

If we move 4th graders to middle school & 6th graders to Jr. High - we can get most of our kids inside a school building next year.

Most 4th grade classes take place inside a trailer, so we lose the expense of upkeep & purchasing additional trailers for kids to learn in & put them in buildings where they belong.

Worst case is the Elementary Schools have more room to expand for the growth & can then move the 3rd graders into trailers instead of split sessions.
Full Day Kindergarten

I agreee that Full day Kindergarten has gotten good press. The studies I have seen have been for Full Day/ Everyday Kindergarten. Not the preschoolesque scenario being proposed in Pickerington.

The problem with Full Day everyday Kindergarten is with 700 Kindergarteners at 25 per class we will need an additional 14 teachers & 14 classrooms to accomplish that. Good Luck !!!
More Bus Routes

Limit bussing available for extra curricular activities to the point to cover the educational needs of Kindergarten students. This shouldn't become a priority over educational needs. Parents shouldn't let it or be afraid to state it!!

The Boosters will get their kids to games as needed.
Agreed

I have also read plenty in the past regarding full day kindergarten and it shows no real harm nor benefit. However, full day 1 day then off 1 day then full day then off 1 day then 1/2 day doesn't sound to me to be a very logical approach.

No all of a sudden if your child misses 1 day of school they in essence miss 2 days.

I just see this as confusing to the children and the needed reinforcement isn't there in this kind of configuration.
