Mark, you are truly priceless. You start arguments and pick fights you can?’t finish and as soon as someone proves your logic flawed you move onto the next subject and start attacking on another front.
Dirty Money & Gail Oakes- By Mark W. Uher, 5-15-2003?” What ?“issues?” where you trying to solve with this posting?
Everyone Booed Gail Oakes!!!- By Mark W. Uher, 5-15-2003 Or this one?
I could continue on with your personal attacks over the past several days but it isn?’t worth it and doesn?’t accomplish anything.
Regarding your points:
First of all the contract with Laidlaw needs to be terminated, which interestingly enough Bruce and Gail fought against renewing and lost to those you hold in such high regard. We?’ll save a lot more removing Laidlaw from the equation than what the auditor recommends.
At this time as I understand it impact fees have been found illegal but if the Ohio legislature is convinced to allow them then I would support the idea. I don?’t personally think $5K will really accomplish much but it is better than nothing. This idea is also a mere band-aid and doesn?’t really solve anything in the long-term.
The problem exists at the state level and is far more extensive than just solving Pickerington?’s problems. I am working on drafting a letter to our ?‘Education?’ governor and to Tim Schaffer regarding Ohio?’s funding of the school systems in our state. What I say will most likely fall on deaf ears with Gov. Taft but I do believe Tim will listen if enough people continue to press the issue.
At the local level we must control our growth now. We wouldn?’t need continual levies brought before the voters if our local elected officials thought more about the school system instead of the wants of the few. If we control our growth now the levy in August may actually last longer than 2 yrs. Wouldn?’t it be nice if we didn?’t have to vote on another levy for say 4 or 5 years?
The health co-pays of the school employees also needs to be better scrutinized. I believe we are taking a bath on health insurance costs. I do support our teachers but I don?’t think a reasonable out of pocket expense for health insurance is an unreasonable request.
I do agree discussing issues is far more productive than personal attacks. But if you think you can hide behind this argument when it is convenient for you and attack those I respect then you are greatly mistaken.
