In his own words on-CEDA oppos 2

The deal is mistake because: .
I. It significantly harms the economic interests of our dear neighbors and
friends in the City of Pickerington for 100 years... 36% of the registered
voters in the Violet Township live in the City. We are one community
with the City of Pickerington.
2. Without a pro forma financial statement outlining revenue and expenses
for each of the 100 years, the Violet Township taxpayers are guaranteed to
pay 100% of the fixed expenses while receiving 20% of the variable
revenue. The 97% of the Violet Township taxpayers residing in the
Pickerington school district will be paying all the expenses for the benefit
of the 3% living in Canal Winchester school district. ''c
3. For 100 years, Violet Township tax money will be used in Article II ~~
section 9 to support any and all annexations into Canal. For 100 years,
Violet Township farm land can be annexed into Canal without the
farmer's consent, mandating the farmer pay 2% Village income tax to Canal Winchester. . . .,
4. For 100 years, the CEDA deal mandates Violet Township tax dollars must
be used to lobby the Ohio General Assembly on any issue that is
beneficial to Canal Winchester. You know, we cannot use tax dollars like
that. The wording of Article II section 9 paragraphs FIG may be found by
the Ohio Supreme Court to be unconstitutional, thus voiding the entire
agreement.
5. Finally, I perceive there may have been a conflict of interest if Bill Yaple
was involved in the private negotiations of the CEDA. Mr. Yaple serves
in an official capacity for both Violet Township and for Village of Canal
Winchester with access to confidential economic data for both entities.
Finally, I genuinely applaud the officials of Village of Canal Winchester and in
particular, Mayor Marsha Hall. This one-sided CEDA requiring in essence Pickerington school taxpayers help fund your school district was absolutely brilliant. You may pull off the biggest political coup in our community's history. Mayor Hall, I hope, you aspire to a higher office, because you certainly will have my support.
I want to publicly thank our outstanding Township Trustee Lyle Diley for opposing this deal from the beginning and I call upon Gary Weltlich and Terry Dunlap to join Lyle in opposing this 100 year disaster.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mark W. Uher
