Dear Violet Township President Terry Dunlap and City of Pickerington Mayor
Randy Hughes:

On behalf of the organizational committee, I would like to let you both know
together of the formation of our citizens group, Citizens for a Strong Violet
Township-Pickerington. The purpose of our group is to develop a cohesive,
harmonious, neighborly community in the Pickerington area and promote
communication, cooperation and teamwork between the Violet Township and the
City of Pickerington elected officials and staff for the benefit of all area
citizens.

The first meeting is Sunday, April 22 here in Pickerington. We will elect
officers and establish a mission and collective set of goals for the group.
We will also discuss our opposition to the Violet Township-Canal Winchester
CEDA. The CEDA will generate income tax revenue for Canal Winchester, in
Franklin County; encourage high density, multi-family residential
development, causing an increase in traffic on our roads and burden existing
fire and EMS services; and exclusively benefit Canal Winchester schools.
Should the CEDA be a ballot issue in November for all Violet Township
residents to decide??

We will also discuss our opposition to the annexations of our Violet Township , land to the Village of Canal Winchester in Franklin County.

?? Gee, did they already make up their mind on an issue before their first meeting??

Please share this e-mail with the other Township Trustees and the members of
Pickerington City Council.

Teamwork works! Thank you.

And now to stop those nasty PATA people from getting the information out to the citizens lets just confuse the masses with a different local action ?– or should we say INACTION group that is comprised of a load mouth piece, a TIF?’d benefiting so-and-so, a couple of do nothing Pickerington School Board members and some PACC yes people.

As a resident of Violet Township; you have an interest in pending decisions on economic development agreements and annexations in the near future.

Both the City of Pickerington and the Village of Canal Winchester have offered Violet Township Cooperative Economic Development Agreements, or CEDA's.

The Violet Township - City of Pickerin2ton CEDA would:
. Benefit both the Pickerington and the Canal Winchester school districts.
. Encourage commercial and industrial development instead of high density, multi-family residential development.
On the other hand, the Violet Township - Canal Winchester CEDA would:
. Generate income tax revenue for Canal Winchester, in Franklin County.
. Encourage high density, multi-family residential development, causing an increase in traffic on ,our roads and burden existing fire and EMS services.

Contact the Violet Township Trustees (Lyle Diley, Terry Dunlap & Gary Weltlich) at 614.575.5556. Encourage them to work with City of Pickerington and vote NO on the Pickerington CEDA and vote Yes. on the Canal Winchester CEDA.

Also, on Tuesday, May 1, the Fairfield County Commissioners will consider an annexation agreement proposed by the Village of Canal Winchester. The annexation should be opposed to prevent traffic headaches, major service problems and keep our Violet Township tax dollars in Fairfield County. Please mail the enclosed card today to your Fairfield County Commissioners (Jon Myers, Allan Reid and Judy Shupe). Urge them to vote No. on the Canal Winchester annexation request.

Let's work together for the benefit of all our area citizens. Thank you.

Dear Commissioners: :~~~
On behalf of the overwhelming majority of citizens of Violet Township, City of Pickerington and the Pickerington Local School District, we ask you today to delay any
formal decision and continue this hearing on the annexation request before you.

With more time, we believe though communication, cooperation, and teamwork the
elected officials of the Village of Canal Winchester, the City of Pickerington and Violet
Township will reach agreement on the annexation request and economic development
plans for the area that will benefit all citizens. With more time, a win-win solution will
be drafted protecting the rights of all property owners. With more time, our elected
officials will develop economic development arrangements mat will benefit both the
Pickerington Local School District and the Canal Winchester schools.

We're encouraged that all parties were able to sit down together last Monday in a
historical meeting at our Violet Township offices. We're delighted that our officials are seeking innovation solutions.

Let's put an end to the annexation brawls of the past. Let's give communication,
cooperation and teamwork a chance to benefit the 32,000 citizens of the Violet
Township-Pickerington area.

Please delay any formal decision and continue this hearing. Thank you for the opportunity to address you today.

Sincerely,
Daryl J. Berry, Pickerington, Co-Chair
Mark W. Uher, Violet Township, Co-Chair
