Source of List of Names
Picktown03,
Without knowing the specifics about what polling place and who compared what voting list against another list of names, I cannot answer your question directly.
In addition, due to my work schedule this summer, I was not active in the levy committee and have not attended a meeting since April.
With that said, I will tell you that a former levy co-chair and I shared with the levy committee in late February an extensive database of levy supporters gathered over our 6 year history with the levies. Over 100 pages of names by subdivision was shared with the levy committee. These names have been an invaluable source of names for us in various past campaigns. We had over 3000 names printed in various newspapers ads over the last six years supporting school levies ... again these names were part of our database.
In addition, I do know for a fact that boosters members were called and reminded to vote. We took a very role in the levy -- as we can legally do for issue campaigns -- contributing time and money.
Finally, I know of a good friend that was called by the levy phone bank. She has never had kids in the district, but has always supported our levy efforts. So I know of at least one non-parent that was called by the levy phone bank.
Without knowing your name, I cannot tell you if you were in our private database that we shared with the committee in February.

Source of names makes sense
Mark,
Fair enough. Given the frequency of levies and the number of times taken to pass them it makes sense the levy supporters are not going back to square one each time. I suspect most folks without children do not make it on the list unless they have been outward supporters in the past.
I've always been a cynic when public money and employees with vested interests come together. Rules tend to get bent many times in that environment. I'd like to feel our folks stay above that.
Regards..

Mark's B S
Now let me get this straight. You lead a group of 18 years olds to the polls and you claim they are informed voters. You make this claim because they did a paper in POD class. Wow what a wonderful dad. I am so proud of you Mark.
Now have any of these young people ever paid any real estate taxes. Oh that?’s right they don?’t own a home yet. Hell they don?’t even have a job yet, but they are informed. They voted differently than their parents because mom and dad probably have had jobs and pay tax. Now they have gone off to college and now they are not even residents. Man we really love this country. Here we have a small group of punk kids that have never lifted a finger to provide for themselves yet they determined the outcome of a school levy for those in the community that do work and are responsible.
I know Mark you are big with the Neanderthal group that only have sports on their minds. I also know that you and those at the school have thrown in the Honor Society to add a little intelligence to your core group. Intelligence is also related to life?’s experience and not some stupid paper done in POD.
There is real concerns in this community from the senior citizens. Clearly your young punks didn?’t consider them in their papers. They were only worried about the memories of their senior year at High School. They wanted to be in lime light regardless of what effects it might have on their parents let alone their grand parents. Did any of those students ask or even consider the effects on fixed incomes. Tell us all from their papers how big was the social security increase this year. As long as they had their cell phones and could call from the front of the polling place everything must be fine.
Did they go to the county auditor and consider that Pickerington has the highest voted real estate taxes in the county? Did any of these young punks ever consider why that is? Why is the PLSD at 80 mills and the closest district to us is Canal Winchester at 63 mills? Oh that's right taxes don?’t affect them so why worry about that.
What about the spineless school board we have. They promised you and the athletic boosters that their fee to pay was only going to be $50 instead of the $250 that they said would be needed with the $600,000 that the liars at the BIA concocted to give this school district and Wes Monhollen said, ?“THEIR WORD IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME.?” Now we see we will never see that money for years if ever from the BIA. Since the levy has passed they are back to business as usual.
Last but not least is did Mark Uher tell these young people what he did for a living and how dependant he is on the Ohio Chamber of Commerce for that living. Mark doesn?’t this chamber have a huge membership of BIA members also. I am sure since you they control your income did they place a great deal of pressure on your to get the levy passed. If the levy had failed would you have been back to selling pizza? Or would you have moved in with Alma?

Answers for Dr. Pepper
Dr. Pepper,
Please be more respectful with your comments about our 18-19 year old voters in this community. Calling these voters 'young punks' and their POD essays 'stupid' was inappropriate.
These citizens all pay taxes to our school district, all have jobs and all are still legal residents of our community even while they are attending college.
In terms of numbers, there are far more senior citizens with fixed income in this community than 18-19 year olds ... therefore, the senior citizens with fixed incomes had far more influence on all elections than our youngest voters do.
Finally, the information you posted about the Ohio Chamber is inaccurate. The Ohio Chamber has almost no home builders as members. Our seminars serve Ohio Chamber members as well as 12 other trade association within the Midwest. We provide a revenue stream to all 12 trade associations ... so it is probably more accurate to state they rely on the revenue from us rather than the opposite.
Thank you for being more respectful in future comments!
