I was upset to read in today's Dispatch that the BIA is now 'hedging on donations' to PLSD extracurricular activities, and apparently now is trying to tie the donation promised in June to an action by the Pickerington City Council.
In Ohio, an oral agreement (or promise) has the same legal authority as a written agreement. And, in this case, since our undertanding of the oral agreement has been extensively reported in various media sources allowing the other party ample time to correct any misunderstanding, I think we have far more than just an 'oral' promise.
Fee colletion for athletes and band members will take place on August 13, 14, 15, 19 & 20th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at PHS Central for all schools.
I would encourage our Board members to take action tomorrow evening to invoice all outstanding 'promised' fees and if they are not paid by August 20th at 8 p.m. take the parties to court.
I think our school board would find very open-minded judges in Lancaster and would find 100% of the community behind their action.
I trust, however, the BIA will understand their legal commitments and pay the $75,000 by 8 p.m. on August 20th & their other commitments by the due dates established by the PLSD board!

B. S. Continues
Mr. Uher
You know as well as I do that you are continuing your B.S. campaign. Wes spent a full career in business with Kroger and he knows darn well that verbal contracts are almost impossible to enforce because you can?’t prove they were ever made. The fact that it was reported in the paper doesn?’t prove that a contact was executed or even presented. We only have Wes?’ word on it. This was nothing more than grandstanding on the part of this unethical schoolboard. They wanted to pass this levy so bad that they have now taken to lying to the voters. Did your little punk 18 year olds realize that?
Let me remind you that these sleaze ball developers sent the letter to Lori Sanders. Isn?’t she the same idiot that thought the builders really cared about the community and she couldn?’t understand why they took back their 16 acres for a new school building down at Sycamore Creek sub-division? Then you snakes brought in good old Lou Postage to get the land back for you. What a bunch of idiots. Now we have a little over 4000 plus 59 idiots that voted to support this school system based on a lie.
Was the Pickerington School Grandstanding again promoting yet another lie just before the election? Mark you know as well as I do that this school board passed unanimously a resolution that called for slow growth. They even went so far as to say they supported the two lots per acre zoning in the district. Yet your school board president, Wes MonHollen, stood before the Pickerington City Council on August 5th, 2003 and said he supports this community authority with out ever reading it. The PLSD board passed their slow growth high density resolution at 7:30 AM in the morning with no prior notice to the public. Their only goal was to get the headlines in the local papers prior to the election. They should all resign for lying to the public.
Why do they now support this god awful Community Authority that will allow ALL NEW HOSUSES IN THE CITY TO BE AT SOMETHING HIGHER THAN TWO LOTS PER ACRE. Mark you are nothing but a hypocrite in your comments here on this web site. You said you supported two lots per acres and then you get in bed with those damn builders that have caused all of these problems because the people of Pickerington have elected idiots to lead them.
The evil A holes like yourself that pray on the emotions of the not only the young people (18 year olds) but their parents making them believe the sky is falling if they don?’t pass the levy. All you did was to buy one more year and we got gone the same crap once more. I suspect you and the lairs are plotting your next big lie to fool the people of this school district. Mean while those builders are cashing their checks in bank other than Pickerington.
Maybe it is time to cut the crap and sit down and fix the real problems instead on these imaginary ones dreamed up by Uher and the school supporters. I hope we can get some people on the school baord that can think for themselves and resist the pressure of people like Uher.

Another thing
Another thing, this $225,000 that was coming from the builders is tied up in this damn Community Authority. They will donate $500 per house for the first 450 homes. Yet they claim to kind of limit the number of homes per year to 300 with anything over that costing an extra $1000 fee for what I don?’t know. Mark I know you are mathematically challenged but that will result in about 585 new students. That will cost this school district in operating expenses around $4.212 Million dollars plus it will cost us a new school in that year and a half they are selling these homes. The kids will be here in two year yet their financing won?’t be available for at least ten years from the Community Authority. So why do you athletic boosters still support Lou Postage the father of this Community Authority? Can some of you actually be that stupid or are you all on the take? Obviously your job depends on it but what about the others?
Now when they get into the second 450 homes they will donate $500 per homes from a community center. Two years into the CA and still no money for the school buildings. This is after the CA is finally approved. Remember it will take three hearings in front of the county commissioners. So Mark even if the City and School Board are stupid enough to approve this CA it will take years before the schools sees any money for their extra curricular activities. Oh that?’s your word I should have used sports.
The finances of this city and school district are on a course for a train wreck THANK YOU MARK. Bill Wright claims if the city adopts a slow growth policy or the 1 ?½% growth rate it will bankrupt the city. He claims we would be several hundreds below what was needed to meet our expenses. Yet the same night he said that he voted to increase our debt by $3.3 million to buy Hickory Lakes.
If our debt is so high that we can?’t meet our debt obligations without 400 plus homes each year then it looks to me that we are in over our head and if the housing markets moves else where then we will go bankrupt. I believe most of us have seen fluctuations with in the housing market. Clearly schools play a big part in the housing market. Just listen to their ads and most claim their homes are near good schools. How about the interest rates? Just last week they started up again. These low interest rates are the lowest they have been since the early 60s. It may be 40 years before we see them that low again. My point is that if we have outrageous property taxes and higher interest rates the homes in this community will be harder to sell. Is that when the downward spiral starts? How many years away is the beginning of that spiral? One, two, maybe three?

Dr. Pepper - Time to Move On!
Dr. Pepper,
I feel your bitterness, anger and hatred towards our young men & women, schools, school board, City officials, boosters, civic associations, Chamber, area businesses and lots of individuals who are active in our community. I have never seen a person who is more bitter towards our community children and young men & women.
You must be very unhappy. I am sorry. It may be time for you to find a community that you like better. I wish you the very best and truly hope you find some happiness in your life.
Sincerely,
|
