Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

We no sooner rid ourselves of one group of developers and we find a new group shows up on our door step. Over the weekend our wonderful City Council Candidate JEFF FIX was making campaign calls from the Law Offices of David Shaver.

After driving by three times over a two hour period parked in front of the office was a local developer that lives external to the City. This developer was one of those that fought the Liberty Township residents when they tried to stop the Monebrake development out on Stoudertown road.

For those that do not know, Mr. Fix is parlaying his ties to the developer?’s attorney Steve Davis and the Republican Party Chairman for the county and his ties with the Betty Montgomery Campaign that has close ties with Brian Fox and that bunch.

First why can?’t Mr. Fix find local supporters that live within the city limits of Pickerington to help him in his campaign?

Second why would he involve the entire Fairfield County Republican Party and use volunteers from outside the area to staff this massive effort that he is current putting on the win a local election?

It has been talked about for some time that Mr. Fix has been having trouble raising the amount of cash he projected and budgeted for early on.

HAS JEFF FIX SOLD OUT?

What and who does Mr. Fix deliver if elected?

What does Mr. Fix do to repay the developers like Monebrake that he is now associating with?

They see a young ego trying to make his mark in life and he has two mortgages and he is trying to raise money to get elected. Although Mr. Fix failed in 2001 to get elected as a Township Trustee his desires and drive to get elected anywhere at any cost remains. Unfortunately he is willing to sell his soul to the devil to reach that goal. That desire and drive is so strong that he is was willing to destroy a local political club to reach his ultimate goal.

He also has a record of raising money from Developers and Builders for County Wide Candidates. He knows them all folks.

What we see here is a Candidate for Governor that in the darkest days of the Fairfield county scandals under the leadership of Brian Fox, Ms. Montgomery was always available to be the speaker at county fund raisers despite requests from local party leaders for her not to support these crooks.

Now Mr. Fix is her campaign Chairman and he is using all of that power from the state Republican Party to gain another foot hold in Pickerington for the developers that the citizens in 2003 evicted.

There is a very good reason to refer to Mr. Fix as Jeff Fox.

Bus Depot.

I am wondering if this is the same developer that is working with Peterman to build them a bus depot? Does he need inside influence to build in the City? Clearly he has positioned himself in the right office over the weekend.

Enough raging at the schools although I?’ll stay engaged in that discussion. Now on to the city council race. I received a campaign brochure and a visit from one of the candidates that I want to tell you about. This Jeff Fix guy really bugs me. He has the personality of a turnip and an ego bigger than this planet. He has latched on to the current council majority and is riding their coat tails. He has no original thought. Let me cite and challenge a few things in his brochure.

In his ?“What I have Done?” section he cites carrying an initiative petition to slow growth. However he said he did not initiate any petitions, Just carried what others (Hackworth?) had done. He says he spoke in favor of the moratorium. How often? Once? He supported a growth plan. In what way? From his Lazy Boy? Spoke against a community authority? I asked him why he was against it and basically the answer was because others were against it. I asked how much it would have generated over the JEDDs and CEDAs he later claims to support. He didn?’t know. He claims all these efforts resulted in slowing growth in Pickerington. Thanks Jeff. You did a great job.

In his ?“What I Plan to Do?” section he says he will work on a charter review commission. I asked him if this was in coordination with Hackworth, O?’Brien, Gilleland and the lawyers?’ announced plans to do so in January. He said ?“Huh??” Coat tails?….

In his commercial development section he says there is simply not enough commercial development. Excuse me!?! What is all that retail along 256? That is commercial pal. Is it industry or big employers? Nope, but where in the city would you plan to locate that? Where would all the NIMBYs allow that? He ?“spoke in favor of?” this and that. Spoke to who? Spoke to council or spoke at council? Spoke to your wife? Spoke to your neighbor? What do you do on planning and zoning that attracts developers? Doesn?’t the planning and zoning department handle that and you just vote on what you are presented? Clarify for me what you personally did to attract business. Oh yeah, you wanted multicolored signs. That would do the trick. Please forgive me. Oh yeah, you attacked the ethics and integrity of all of the planning and zoning AND the city staff. That will do the trick. You sound like a junior Sabatino.

What you will do for commercial development is secure a medical or technical development along 33. What say the trustees about that? What tools do you have to accomplish that? The city and township have economic development departments that are already doing that. What can you add to that?

You say you will work with Rep. Schaffer on moving the Pick Road interchange. When had Schaffer come out and said he supported that? Did he approve this in your brochure? Because I don?’t think he has told the city or township about that. Do you have some sort of influence on that?

You say you created the PATA newsletter. Where is it now? I used to get a kick out of it. I used to get a kick out of picturing Randall Hughes wiping his butt with it as he said he did. You say the former city government was corrupt. That is a serious charge. One that opens you up to libel or slander I am sure. Do you also accuse Wright and Sabatino of these charges? Where is your proof?

I am running out of space here so let me get to the crux of this. What the hell do the republicans and your affiliation have to do with council? Isn?’t it nonpartisan? Great time to shove republican down our throat pal. Taft, Noe, and now Fix. Smooth move Ex-Lax.

I also look at your endorsements with skepticism. Shaver and Riggs are endorsing you as a political favor. Both have partisan political interests, right? Kind of like you. Where are O?’Brien, Hackworth and Wisniewski if you are such a ?“team player?” and you support them so much, why don?’t they support you? Because they?’re not political players? Because they serve residents over partisan buddies? Weltlich surprises me after you blowing the trustee election four years ago. Dunlap? Good one there. Neighbor told me he endorsed O?’Brien and Wright, too. What is his worth? Curtis, Shupe, Myers? Now there?’s a great group to set sail with. This county is on the verge of bankruptcy thanks to these incompetent fools but they support you so they must be forgiven for all they have done. Landefield? Don?’t know him but do know he is a consummate politician. Just like you pal. Davis? Has he forgotten the deal you ran against Debra Smallie? You and your political wenches tried a fast one there but you lost big? Does Davis support that backstabbing or is it just politics?

Finally, the republican club. Again the ?“R Factor?”. Isn?’t this the ethical group that threw their ethical constitution and their ethical bylaws out the window in the endorsement process so you would have someone to run with in this election? Ethics? Maybe a long time ago but no more. They endorsed nonrepublicans if what I read in this discussion forum is true. How can a partisan political activity such as this endorse outside their party? Isn?’t that what happened with Postage, Hughes, Washington and Bushman. Oh, that?’s right. Many of the same people in your club were in that club. Did they endorse or funnel republican money to democrats this time?

Come on, all this partisan crap make me wretch. Don?’t think I am singling you out. I fully intend to question every aspect of your opponent?’s brochures too. One thing I learned here in good old Pickerington is the voter?’s memories are very short. I?’ll try to serve as a reminder to keep their memory fresh. I want to see how partisan the others are. I want to see if you and your independent thinker buddies tell some truth. I want to see what this Team 4 Pickerington has to offer me besides political rhetoric. I want to see if they have something to say other than SAVE OUR SCHOOLS or SLOW GROWTH or HIGH TAXES. Tell me something new to earn my vote.
