Question
I don't shop at WalMart so I really don't know why I care about this topic.
But anyway, isn't the Reynoldsburg WalMart in the PLSD? Does the district benefit from the stores at Taylor Square. I know that the apartments back there attend PLSD and Violet Township has the burden of fire/emergency in the area.
Just wondering.

Interesting
Interesting question. I know at least part of it is in the Township hence the fire dept issue but I think that's in the Reynoldsbury school district. The school district and the township aren't geographically the same. But I honestly don't know.

It costs to support the big box.
Part of the Wal-Mart in Reynoldsburg is in the PLSD. Reynoldsburg did try to annex that into their school district. The only problem is that the store is under a 30 year TIF. Even with that said the property has increased in value and it does pay some property tax money to the PLSD. The second issue is that income tax over the one million payroll is also paid to teh PLSD. Pickerington pays the PLSD income revenues from their TIFs areas that have the 1 million dollar payrolls.
Violet Fire Department has their highest runs to that quadrent of their district.

What tax will they pay?
The state has been converting business tax from sales tax and income tax to a CAT (commercial activity tax). Will the county continue to get a cut of that tax? Will they do away with the sales tax all together?
