Your Education: Planning Ahead for Graduate School

Apr 10, 2006

The Graduate Students of Color Network at USC, in collaboration with the Communication and Liberal Studies Departments at CSULA, will be sponsoring
a workshop on graduate school geared towards local Cal-State and Community College undergraduates. The event will take place on Wednesday, April
19th, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the California State University of Los Angeles campus in the Golden Eagle student center.

This outreach event will include a panel entitled "It's Never too Early or too Late to Consider Your Options" and will focus on applying for and
attending post-Baccalaureate degree programs. The panel will consist of Cal-State and community college alumni who are currently graduate students
in Masters, Professional, and Ph.D. programs and will spark discussions about grad school opportunities.

After the panel, undergraduates will be able to visit multiple stations introducing them to themes and topics such as: Financial Aid, the Application Process, writing a Personal Statement and, how to choose a Graduate School/Program. Free snacks and food will be provided during and after this event.

All undergraduate students, from all departments, institutions, and disciplines are welcome to attend.

Please distribute this information widely and invite all students to participate in these informal intellectual discussions about their options for the future.

Attached please find the official flyer for this workshop and direct queries to James McKeever or Margaret Salazar at calstategrad@gmail.com.
We hope to see you and your students on April 19th, 2006!
