The Fund to End Child Prostitution - [Link to Donation Form]

Long known as "Atlanta's Dirty Little Secret," the Atlanta Police Foundation has established a fund to provide resources, including technology, needed by the vice squad in the apprehension of "Johns" who are being predators of our children.  Funds will be used to identify and intervene when children are being prostituted.

Successful Reduction in Crime---It was Done---Metropolitan Parkway/Atlanta-Perkerson Neighborhood:

There has been a markedly decrease in prostitution on Metropolitan Parkway/Atlanta in response to people working to report these activities in the Perkerson neighborhood, so we know the problem can be shut down. Neighbors worked to identify these problem properties, neighbors worked with Atlanta Police Department, Atlanta City Solicitor, Atlanta City Council, Fulton County District Attorney's Office, Fulton County Sheriff's Office, Fulton County Board of Commissioners, FBI, U.S. Attorney's Office, GBI, and others because they believed in their neighborhood. People will still try to portray the street as it was in the past, and that simply is not true...you do not see that type of activity anymore. When a police major can say this is one of his most stable neighborhoods because he does not even see this type of activity---that's success.

Neighbors worked to bring in new businesses to the neighborhood, and they created an environment that is friendly to enterprise by approving certain zoning changes on property to make that happen. So,  you do see new construction of condominiums around the park space on Metropolitan Parkway; you do see new homes being built; you do see home renovations; you do see vacant tracts of old clubs that could not survive because they were contributing to this illegal and moral problem; you do see vacant old car dealerships land; old mechanic shops; what do you see---Opportunity for Redevelopment on Metropolitan Parkway/Atlanta.
