Are there any plans to add more equipment? I know my wife has volunteered to investigate various options, but her opinion was never solicited. I'd love to spend more time there and get my $$'s worth, but there's just not much to do. Something like the playground at Hudson/Sewell softball complex would be great - especially if you could get it coverd! Our kids (5 & 6) have a great time at the park at Breckenridge and the one at Lookout & Plano Road.
As far as undesirables -- if the court was at least key-carded, it would help prevent unauth use. And if they were caught inside, then you'd at least have some recourse for trespassing.
I understand that a slide would pose risk, but at some point, can't you have a waiver that if you are stupid enough to not use it as intended and get hurt that you are responsible for your own actions? I realize taking responsibilty for your actions is something society doesn't want to do, but it seems that those of us that use our brain shouldn't be punished by thse [few] that don't.
I'd say that while I would like to see things run differently, I don't have the time to volunteer like our current members. I gladly submit my opinions at the annual meetings, but in the end, if the end result isn't what I was after, then I can't complain too much. If you have been to an annual meeting, you would see that apathy runs rampant here -- its a miracle that there is even a fully staffed board!
I s'pose one suggestion would is I would like to see a better use of technology to communicate and organize. This site is ok, but look at the timelines between posts. Mr. Sawyer, myself, and bedens. That's a paltry 1% of the neighborhood in 6 months. Even a simple e-mailing list (addresses hidden of course) to address everyone would be handy for such things as lost dogs, or vandelism, block parties, etc...
