Has anyone noticed that there is no communication or sharing of information from our Board of Directors. No recent newsletters, no current minutes of BoD meetings, no responses to owner requests for information.
For those that aren't aware, the Board recently appointed the wife of the current President of the HOA to the board. The vote was totally illegal and did not conform to the requirements of the governing documents. In spite of at least 3 written challenges to this appointment and an immediate challenge by a member of the Board, there has been no response or explanation. We now have 2 members of the same family controlling 40% of the vote on the Board - This is not healthy!
The Board has not communicated with any of the owners that they foreclosed on Unit #249 and took possession of it in settlement of unpaid dues. Instead of selling the unit, they decided in their infinite wisdom to lease it out. Before they could do so, the bank that previously owned the mortgage held their own foreclosure sale and supposedly took over ownership of the property. While I believe the banks action to be illegal, the bottom line is that we are in the middle of a protracted legal battle and out the $16,000-20,000 that has been expended on the property as well as the $217 in monthly dues that has not been paid to the association since Jan. 2009. Requests from numerous owners for information on the status of this unit have been ignored by both the Board and the management company.
It's time to clean house.
