Recently the Expo Line cut down various mature shade trees along Venice in preparation for street widening.
I am concerned that they will not replant enough new trees along the borders of our neighborhood to offset all of the noise and traffic pollution created by idling cars in diminished lanes and continued construction.
If they do plant new trees, I'd like to encourage them to plant natives or native hybrid trees around all of the streets that bound the neighborhood (National, Venice, Regent and Cattaraugus).
I have written letters to Glenda Silva the Exposition Construction Authority and to Bob Schooner of Balfour Beatty Infrastructure. Does anyone else know who I should include in my letter writing campaign?
I am especially upset since street widening and the chooping down of trees was never mentioned at any of the Expo Line Community Meetings that I attended.
Please let me know if you too would like to write a letter and need a template.
