Some had asked prior if anyone had received their signing check, I received mine today.  It was almost $300 more than what they had quoted. 

I did received my check. it's like around $ 300 more than they said.

Anyone know why?

Thanks for replying, I was the one inquiring if anyone rec'd checks or not.  I signed at the second meeting so I have a long wait.    Maybe the extra $$ is becuz they added the square footage going into the street.

For this round of checks Cheaha included about $300 to cover the acreage to the middle of the street which we have rights to.

When they do the survey measurements to file your actual plat, they may send another small check if the $300 is not the exact calculation for the acreage. In the long run, you will be paid on your exact acreage.

For those who signed at the March meeting, you will recieve one check for the amount you agreed on in your contract. When they file the actual plat you will receive a 2nd check for the exact acreage to the street.
