Hello All,

I just wanted to put out a friendly reminder...its Christmas time again, and with that we have alot of decorations out there for most folks to enjoy looking at, but for others to vandalize.

PLEASE...be aware of what is going on in your streets and neighborhoods. Also report any and all acts of vandalism to the police. The last thing any of us want is a repeat of last year when we had all the broken house lanterns, lights, and decorations...which ultimately ended up with one of our residents getting badly hurt chasing down some punks who damaged his house.

If no one reports acts of vandalism to the police...no matter how small, there is nothing on record warranting them to make more patrols in the area. In addition, you can rest assured that if somthing on your property has been vandalised, it has happened to someone else too.

And these days, it goes beyond "kids being kids". I can speak for anyone else, but I have invested alot of time and money in my home and the decorations, and the last thing I need/want to spend extra cash on is fixing up damage done by vandals with nothing better to do with themselves.

More importantly,  watch for criminals trying to break into your houses.  I can deal with broken Christmas lights / decorations but not someone breaking into my house and stealing my stuff or a home invasion.  Last week a neighbor had an African American Gentleman ring her door bell who said he lived down the street and that his mom just had a stroke and that he needed a ride to the hospital.  My neighbor said the man looked like he was on drugs.  Lucky,  she had her dog beside her and he is aggressive.  My neighbor explained that she could not take him as she was working from home and works from home every day and needed to be on a conference call in 10 mins.  Her car was in the garage,  no cars in the driveway.  She watched him leave and he did not go next store where there where cars in the driveway nor across the street where there were also cars in the driveway.  She spoke with those neighbors and he did not come to their houses.  If he really needed help,  don't think he would be knocking on doors of homes that looked like no one was home.  This happened on a Friday afternoon around 2:30 pm.  She did call the Police.  And I am glad she didn't offer to take him anywhere,  no telling what could have happened.  I do not understand why our neighborhood seems to be targeted by thieves but we all do need to watch out for each other and report anything suspicious right away to the police.
