Sorry,  listen  - we are getting robbed and broken into but the police force is not patrolling more due to these crimes.  They are in our neighborhood because of constant calls made about riders in the trails.  I guess if we called the mayor and complained like a certain neighbor has about dirt bike riders,  we might get a little more help and police assistance with break-ins.  Question - is that what it takes?  To bitch and complain to the major to get more police to patrol our neighborhood?  Cause if that is the cause,  then let's start making in calls.  Here is the phone number:  Phone: (817) 871-6117.  A little bit about our mayor "Mayor Moncrief is a successful Fort Worth business owner who is involved in various community and civic affairs"  take that for what it says.  This is like the 5th attempted break-in and they are getting classified as 2 or 3?   For the police to state that robberies are occurring due to economic reasons ought to put these calls as class 1 or are they saying that due to economic times,  this is going to happen and be prepared?   However,  if I called them right now and told them someone was riding in the trails,  they would be here in 5 mins.  Hmmm.  Makes you wonder doesn't it?   Yes,  we all need to watch out for one another....and we are.  Saying it and doing it.  Putting on the alarms .  Keeping our dogs inside.  We are doing what we NEED to be doing.  All that I am asking for as a tax payer,  when the police are called,  get out here and prioritize the damn calls.

I am glad this person let us know what has gone on in the neighborhood north of us.  This is my first post, but I also live in River Trails.  I am becoming quite concerned about all of this and have taken extra measures to try to protect my home.

I was on the FW police website tonight, and they use a site called crime mapping to show all the crimes in the area (www.crimemapping.com).  It looks like the Lakes of River Trails North had TWO burglaries last week.

Well maybe if when we call to report a robbery  in progress or an attempted break in, we say that we are calling because someone is riding their ATV and making a bunch of noise, they will come out quicker.  ???  Pretty pathetic, but it just might work.

I still think the problem with response times is with 9-11, not the police.

I did some checking around about which police department is responsible for different neighborhoods; generally speaking, north of Trinity Blvd.  (in Lakes of River Trails North), Hurst Police Department is responsible.   Their direct telephone line is 817-788-7146.  South of Trinity, it is Fort Worth Police's area and I cannot find a direct telephone line for emergency calls other than 9-11.   I-820 is the boundary with North Richland Hills.  To keep someone from escaping into another subdivision, police are allowed to follow within a reasonable distance; we see this all the time with the FW radar gun operators on Trinity.

I would not be surprised if some our burglaries were being committed by juveniles who figure they will be back home before the police arrive.

The  I-30 corridor all the way to Arlington and the area west of I-820 is a major concern for the Fort Worth Police-- it is my understanding the apartments along Boca Raton and Bridgewood are a never ending source of frustration for law enforcement and takes up a lot of time and resources.   .

Perhaps we need to go to a city council meeting to voice our concerns.
