First Time Homebuyer

Posted in: River Trails

I currently live in the FW area, and I am interested in buying my first home.  I'm starting the process of sniffing around different neighboorhoods to get a good idea of what's what.

Would you guys suggest buying a home in River Trails?

We have been here for tens years and yes I would suggest buying in River Trails.  Just a word of warning the Lakes of River Trails looks down on the folks of River Trails.  We are considered by them to be their ghetto or slum.

I agree with ALT.   I've been here 6 years, and this is the first home I've owned.  I love the neighborhood, but he's right about the Lakes of River Trails folks.

Gosh,  I hate to admit it but ALT is right.  I wish the developer hadn't seperated the communities when we are right in the middle.  We have asked to partake in some sort of fee's so we are allowed to use the ponds etc but I guess that was nixed.  I am just hoping that when the hiking/bike trails are built,  we are allowed access.  LORT Security stopped by son and his friends on their way to the pond to fish and let them continue on when he found out that 3 of the boys lived in LORT.  Wonder what he would have done if all of them lived in Rivertrials instead of the LORT?  For pete's sake,  they all go to the same school,  they are 11 yr olds.  Why can't they use the same facilities together without getting stopped by Security?
