Slow Roll Chicago (SRC)
SRC is a community-based organization utilizing the activity of bicycling to connect a diverse group of people and improve the condition of communities by organizing community bicycle rides and other bicycling-related programs throughout the greater Chicago area. Slow Roll Chicago works to achieve equity in bicycle access, bicycle usage, bicycle infrastructure, bicycle safety, bicycle culture, and other bicycle-related resources in Chicago with particular focus on communities on the Southside and Westside, making our communities healthier, more empowered, more economically viable, more socially cohesive, more bikeable, and ultimately more liveable.
We ride to celebrate history. We ride to create community. We ride in Southside neighborhoods. We ride to explore the vibrant history of the these historic communities. We ride to live the dynamic history of the people that live on Chicago's Southside. We ride to explore their legacy as part of the Civil Rights Movement in the US. We ride to experience the beautifully textured Southside, the history, culture, people, communities, organizations, architecture, and the beauty. This is why we ride.
