Driveway Alterations

Karen,

The contractor said the concrete could start getting poured as early as this weekend, so anything we do or check into needs to be done asap. Shane's name was given to me as being the Pulte contact that awarded the contract. On Wednesday I sent an email to the graysonpark address with a few more details that I didn't mention in here.

My immediate thought is that until we can get some input from a few foundation experts on this (and I don't mean Pulte), we need Shane to at least put this project on hold. The way they've handled this is suspicious at best. They were completely wrong to handle it the way they did.

We need immediate cooperation from Pulte on this. If after we've had a chance to solicit input on our own and it turns out that concreting these areas is in our best interest, then we can go from there. However, it was designed by their architects this way, so I'm not inclined to believe that it's suddenly a higher priority than several other VERY hazardous, costly, and unsightly issues that Pulte has left us with and neglected to address for a long time. In my opinion, these driveway alterations need to take a back seat to the higher priority issues. Moreover, Pulte ought to work on these numerous other issues while giving us some time to better understand the driveway situation.

I know this may come as a shock, but I have many thoughts on this... some of which I'm not ready to discuss in this forum. Feel free to call me anytime to discuss this further. I'm happy to help however I can. (Please note, the phone number you have for me will be out of operation until 4/24. We got ''slammed'' by a phone company and now it will take 2 weeks to get our old number back. You can reach me using the 7743 business number I sent a few days ago.)

Thanks!
Rick

Timothy,
I appreciate the response. Rest assured you are in good company with the issues you mention. Enjoy the free electricity while you can, but make sure you get your water put in your name because SAWS will back date your first bill to the date Pulte told them you were moving in.

Up to now I've tried not to talk about our experience with Pulte so that others would be able to form their own opinions based on personal experience. However, I think that enough time has passed so I'm happy to give any help or suggestions I can to newer homeowners to avoid or mitigate the issues we've run into with Pulte.

I haven't received the phone call that you mention, but I only hope that I will. I'm holding my surveys until I have tried everything I can to resolve my issues. If I don't succeed, I aim to at least stir up a hornet's nest with the surveys and letters I send in.

My first house was built by Pulte and for the most part it was a fantastic house, but that was 17 years ago and in another city. The longer we live here the more I tend to believe that it's not Pulte in general, but the management of Pulte's San Antonio division that is causing so many headaches. This is just my opinion.

Anyway, thanks for the response. We need lots more input from everyone on this and many other issues, whether good or bad.

- Rick

P.S. I'm still waiting on the replacement of the replacement Pizza they were going to send right over when they failed to deliver a pizza on customer appreciation night. Virtually the same thing happened last year too. They're 0 for 5 in pizza delivery attempts with my family!!

Driveways

Rick, Karen, etc: I'm glad I'm not the only one with these concerns. The landscaping is sub-optimal to say the least, and I'm pretty irritated with the lack of drainage by a few homes right near the playground. That appears to be getting corrected, which is fortunate, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. I'm also pretty irritated that the sidewalk through the playground doesn't connect, so to get to the mailbox I have to go all the way 'round. I also think we need some more public garbage cans, as that would maybe get folks to pick up their dog crap. And maybe some of those Severe Tire Damage things at that gate to Henderson Pass to really stick it to whatever idiot keeps driving in the wrong way and breaking the gate.

Whoops

I don't know why I decided K stood for Karen, maybe I'm just out of it this morning. Apologies if I guessed wrong.
