I feel that instead of using so much hired work for a lot of landscaping, that if we resorted to the previous usage of volunteer work it would be more beneficiary.

For several reasons, one it pulls the community together and not so many people complain because they had the choice to help or not. Also it saves on capital a big issue in our neighborhood. And last the citizens of our neighborhood can feel good about what they did.

This method was seen in the past and I believe was very successful. Not that hiring the landscaping to be done by a professional is wrong but there are many people who are ready to lend a helping hand that are never given a chance.

A reply to the person who said the previous board members are never seen active again i believe it has to do with the strong views that each 'party' has. Such as when one losses control to the other they change everything and vise versa. As a neighborhood we really need to overcome this, doing so will help us a lot and until then it will always be a barrier.
