Stop Signs-Neighborhood safety

is this directed to me or a general question to the thread posters/readers?

either way i'll answer..... yes i do...or at least i'd like to think i do sometimes...

i was fortunate enough to have lived in califas(carson, wilmington, san pedro, gardena, compton, torrence and long beach). there it was pounded into every one's thick skull(while in elementary school, mind you) that you *do not play* in the streets. that is what parks and back yards were for. from what i remember back then(which is just about everything), they were quite good at the time and were way ahead of what was available in san antonio and houston in the form of activities and social services. here in san antonio...southside lions park, denver heights park, highland park, pittman sullivan park, roosevelt park, concepcion park, espada park, mission county park, commanchee park and pecan valley......always with my parents or with supervision in a group setting. the restrooms have always been notorious.

Family Subdivision & Safety

Hi Richard,

Great Answer!!! I agree with you 100%. My answer to the question posted by the other neighbor, where did I play as a child? I NEVER played in the streets. I played in my back yard or in parks-always under the watchful supervision of my loving parents. That is the way it should always be when we care for our children and their safety. If we want to prevent tragedies, it is ONLY up to us-THE PARENTS- to protect them. We cannot expect society to be our children's baby sitters. And to all a WONDERFUL, HAPPY & HEALTHY NEW YEAR!!!
