Oh for heavens sake......does it really take all this yadda yadda yadda to solve a problem like trash cans? We have lived here over 10 years, renters come and go, homeowners come and go, just move the can. Do you really have to make a moutain out of a small pile of trash? How many time have we all picked up or moved something without being granted a good neighbor award!! Come on!!
Positive Inspiration

Can you not see how this was an inspiring event for her? Perhaps it takes something more for you. Maybe a luner landing or a baby's first steps?
How about a positive neighborhood story from you. Anything?

Great Idea Diane!

The popsicles are a fantastic idea Diane! As a teacher, I can tell you kids will do anything for edible treats. I've even thought of putting a rubbermaid garbage can with a lid in my front yard (chained to a tree) to encourage the kids to use it instead of my yard and the street for all of their snack wrappers. I tell you, it's most of the kids on the block leaving trash, including some neighborhood association children. Obviously, it's worse in the summer when the little ones are out of school. Everyone needs to remind their children to put their trash in a can, not the street. Maybe if I organized a once a week trash clean up on our street, they would be less likely to leave their wrappers in the first place! Maybe if I offered popsicles or candy, they would take their trash home...who knows.

Well said Bill! Let's be positive people! (I'll probably be critized for saying AMEN!)
