my dreams are answered

You should have done your homework.
22 Avenue N/NE has been a major thoroughfare for many, many, many years.
Running both 22 & 21 east would solve no problems. Think out your ideas before you express them.
Understand Your concern

I would not want to raise a family on 22nd either.

However, your request to lower the amount of traffic on 22nd would negatively impacting many different groups of people that you may not have thought of.

1) The people that own homes on 21st Ave. purchased their homes with the knowledge that the traffic was on, and has always been on 22nd.

These people presumably payed more for their homes than they would have payed had their home been located on 22nd.

As you indicated, you bought your home because the PRICE WAS RIGHT. The same home is usually less expensive when located on a busier street. Their are exceptions, such as a street that is considered more "prestigious" (not that I agree it does makes a difference) such as, Beach Drive, Brightwaters Blvd. (nonwater side of course) etc.

You knew this going in. Is it fair to shift your traffic to someone elses street?

2) The traffic on 22nd Ave. in large part is primarily going to and from Snell Isle and Shore Acres. Like it or not, 22nd Ave. is as much for them as it is for us.

How would those property owners feel if we made them drive down 21st Ave. to leave their neighborhoods?

How would the City feel about all this traffic exiting onto 4th Street at 21st Ave. where there is no traffic light? Are you suggesting that the City add another light at 21st Ave. N.?

If they don''''t add a light, we would have a VERY dangerous intersection at 21st and 4th. Also it is very rare for two traffic lights to be placed so close together.

These are the two most obvious issues that come to mind. You may or may not of thought of these issues in the same way. I am certain that you would not intentionally make a suggestion that would unfairly harm your neighbor.

I hope this has been of assistance.
