WEEDS OBLIGATION

Posted in: Historic Old Northeast
I believe the citizens of North Shore pay taxes and also paid $ 35.00 per household for the monuments.
Why should we be responsible for maintenance.
The City of St. Petersburg needs to redefine it's obligations to it's citizens.
The City is to provide services to it's residents through the collection of tax revenue.
Remember, grants are not manna from heaven, they are tax dollars.

See my posting ''Some more etc.'' and my response to Ann W. Maybe this will help explain it.

WEEDS

Get a clue ! We pay taxes ! This entitles us to services ! The monuments don't belong to the NSNA they belong to the city !
We don't jump through hoops for the city they jump for us, THE TAXPAYERS!
GET A FRIGGIN' CLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
taxes / weeds

Obscene lanaguage accomplishes nothing. Neither does a ''gim'me'' attitude. North Shore apparently entered into an unfortunate arrangement many years ago with the city that maintenance of the monuments is our responsibility. We either live up to the responsibility, however ill conceived, or we get higher taxes to cover maintenance costs, or the monuments get removed.
