If we had a larger Airport more people would come. We need a place for the wealthy to spend their money on toys. If we try we could have a airport like Chicago Ohare ougt in the bay.

It doesn't take a ROCKET Scientist 1000 ft will allow them to land larger planes. 727 comes to mind.

Downtown Airport/Vision 2020

At the photo session last week, almost all of the 30-odd people in attendance raised their hands to keep the airport as is. About 2 or 3 wanted to get rid of it. Most felt it's historic -- first commercial flight -- and still as useful as a marina. Everyone felt very strongly that it should NOT be enlarged. I hadn't heard that this was more than rumor; would appreciate more details. Have copied all the correspondence and will bring it to the charette. (Probably would carry more weight if not anonymous.) thanx for all the input; I feel better equipped to speak at the charette with this info.

There will be a public meeting in June. The task force had their last meeting and the recommendation by consultant is to go out a minimum of 300 ft and if no opposition to go out 1000 ft.
