I can't speak for the Board but as a member of the Board, my thoughts are:

1. Glad you raised the issue of the lamentable loss of another bungalow. Of course the Board can't be omniscient of all events in North Shore and it takes members & neighbors to raise concerns for attention.

2. If that empty Coffee Pot Bayou lot is a mess, the quickest way to get action is to alert the City code violations people. The telephone #s are: Codes Compliance - 893-7373; Codes Information Line - 893-7222.

3. Historic Designation status. I think I know but am not 100% sure of the status -- I'll find out & get back.

4. Board responsiveness to this forum. Again, I speak only for myself but I imagine it's true for all Board members that we check this forum irregularly as time & travel allow.

Please don't construe no reply as a lack of interest. If you want to ensure a more timely response, the ''About Our Association'' link on the main page contains current contact information for all Board members. There are committee chair names also albeit some are without contact information.
Thank you Joe!

Thank you Joe!
The most thoughful information I've read on this site in awhile...and thanks for not demanding that I get ''more involved'' to have my questions answered about potential issues this great neighborhood.

Some answers

First, ''BYN'' thanks for the +++ reply to my note. Yay for civility.

Per Historic District application, Craig Hyde is more up-to-date than I am with details and he said he'd reply to this thread with some info. In essence, the application has been delivered and we're waiting on the State to do its thing.

Per that house on 17th Ave NE, I took a look at it yesterday -- looks like they were taking the termite tent off it. Fortunately, that indicates it's not a a candidate for being destroyed. But Steve Kipp (see Newsletter - NDR Committee Report) said that it is a candidate for being moved. Ergo, A new home will take its place.

When the State comes back to us on the historic district application, most of us (I speak for myself) will need a re-education about the next steps (e.g., vote required) and ramifications of being a historic district. It's an easy bet that some discussion will be generated about that topic.
