SORRY that u are upset, but please look at Calvarese Farms Fees, which has a whopping $590.00 per year. There are tears to be shead if u are a homeowner in this development as one might see they are have more land to maintain than stone mill and not as much vandislim taking place.
We are have homeowners in Stone Mill, who are not paying their dues, which leaves the associations to scramble to increase the money portion to make up for the lost funds, which dwindles the bank account. There is snowing plowing which/whenever there is a hugh snow storm. This takes up a hugh portion of the money. Then there is landscaping, draining of the pond, the maintenance of the picking after people who don't pick up after their dogs. There is the constant repair of the wood fence that is constantely being vandalized. There is insurance to be paid, lawyer fees to be paid to go after people who don't pay their dues. Fees to be paid to pick the trash that is thrown and left behind by people passing through. Financially/ethically,it is not correct to be paying for others who do not wish to pay for services to maintaine their surroundings and keep up their property value. This is what is happening in Stone Mill. People are going to be sorry because this cause and effect will show up ones property value..
There was planting of the trees along songsmith drive, in order not to paint the fence and to hide the constant graffii and the tearing down of the wood fence by the vandals. Associations fees can be hefty, we have to pay them if one chooses to live in a community and we as homeowners are responsible for the upkeep of our community, not the County. Because if the County steps in, all hell breaks loose and we will never get services done. It will be done at their leisure. The community will go to pots and become a living nightmare- ghetto like Lexington Green. So u see ,we need to step up to the plate and pay our dues or we can choose to move. One more thing, the reason probably some associations have low fees is BECAUSE
EVERYBODY PAYS THEIR DUES AND ON TIME. THIS KEEPS THE FEES DOWN AND THEY PROBABLY DON'T HAVE ALOT OF MAINTENANCE ISSUES. I have been in the community since its inception, people have moved out and they are sorry that they have moved. Wish they could come back. It is not a bad community and the association stays on top whenever there an issue to be resolved. This is how we have managed to community stable by staying involved. People are having issues all over and where ever they move. |

Your lengthy explanation doesn't explain many things.
how is it they spend every bit of the money they collect? half of this money is supposed to be for emergencies, what kind of emergencies cost half of the collections every year? and that's a lot of money if you figure it out. Bull! If Calvarese Farms is so high, you better believe they are the ONLY ones higher than ours. It's not like we live in Hockessin, you know. I have a friend there who is shocked by what we pay. Do you not think that all these other communities have the same problems getting people to pay their fee? but i don't see them jacking it up like ours is. Why is it our "board" only enforces the money part of things? people park all over the streets, leave their trash cans out front, play basketball in the street. try calling the president and she'll suggest you call the county!?!?! why am i going to call the county? that's her job, as the county even told me. The county also told me, my friend, that our illustrious 'board' members are using our money to have the county send out our bills and collect our money! to the tune of $6 per house! figure out the money if you can. see if you can understand this: these people supposedly running our neighborhood are taking our money and giving it to the county to collect our money. make sense to you? why do you think they want these jobs? they don't want to do the work, that's for sure. i have been in my house for 12 years. since it was built. i have been to a couple meetings (my mom is in a nursing home and i work full time so can't attend as i would like to but that doesn't mean i don't have something to say). now at one of these meetings was a "police officer" who thought the way to stop the vandalism was to "find something for the kids to do." i've never heard anything so ridiculous and you have seen the result. vandalism just gets worse while they laugh at people like him. how about we go down to the neighborhood it's coming from and tear their place up a bit. you think he'd have any trouble arresting us? i promise you there'd be no such problem. i had to chase a guy who actually stole my neighbor's lawn mower while i watched him out my kitchen window at 6:00 am on a Saturday morning. yes, i went after the creep (he was on a bicycle and a grown man, not even a kid) and got the lawnmower back. i do more than the police do. As long as they are patted on their little heads, this will continue. Duh! No offence but I can see that you have bought into this BULL -- don't expect other people to do the same. |
