I'm sorry to see that two of our neighbors at the end of N. Sherman Drive have decided to sell their homes, but I completely understand. Some neighbors don't allow their children to play at the park at all.
As a short-term solution, we can all keep watch over the park and nearby areas. It's our neighborhood! If you see something, say something. There are at least four ways to contact police:
- Text your crime tips to 847411 (TIP411)
- Call 9-1-1
- Call the non-emergency number at 302-573-2800
- Submit an anonymous tip: http://www.citizenobserver.com/cov6/app/webTipForm.html?id=3376
When you contact police, make sure to include: a general description of the suspicious person(s) including gender [male/female], build [tall/short, thin/heavy], facial hair/glasses and ethnicity. If the suspicious person drove a vehicle, provide the make, model and color of the car; include the license plate number if possible. Provide the date & time for text and Internet tips.
As far as a long-term solution, maybe the picnic tables need to be removed like the tennis and basketball courts. Anyone else have any ideas?
