Your house is not HOA responsibility but the common area is get real.

A phone listing is not that difficult for a person to have obviously you dont have it either.
When you plumbing stops up you dont have a plumber available do you ?

or a roofer,

Sun City is a model we should strive to be as they have evrything on contract and should a problem occur they have people to call not research to do.

many people have no common sense. But business needs it how much work could get done if at work you ran out of paper and ink and had to look it up instead of having extra on hand.

I bet at work they have a sticker on the copy machine who to call for service.

I was giving the board the benefit of my many years of experience. BUT if they think they know better they will be the ones ridiculed not me. I know that I have the contact info I need if I have problems but I was a boy scout and ''be prepared'' IS REALLY IMPORTANT.

I even have spare light bulbs for these floodlights that burn out all the time and know the part number so that I will always have light (65 watts). I know that if they are under service contract our lighting contractor will have spare ''high pressure sodium'' bulbs to replace the ones in the common area that is just common sense.

I saw a special about las Vegas how they have companies that check nightly which casinos need bulbs it is rare that they remain burned out for over 24 hours. considering that they have thousands of bulbs they have a system in place to identify exactly which bulbs are burned out. I bet (no pun intended) that they know by part number every bulb used by every casino and exactly where and how many there are.

With time as this info is gathered it will save hours of work if it is saved for future HOA members. Why reinvent the wheel???

I've never dealt with the government, huh? You have no idea buddy. I'm simply posing this question, ''Are we seriously talking about a jet crashing in our common areas and how the HOA should have an emergency prepardness plan on what to do if that did happen?? Are we seriously talking about that?'' Sorry man, I've got so many more things to worry about and think about. And I will tell you that if you'd like to see our community modeled after Sun City, please look elsewhere for support. I'd rather live in Sheriff Joe's Tent City than in any community that models themselves after Sun City. Come on, quit being so negative. Be proactive and not reactive.
