3) Fighting - Needless to say, I couldn't believe my eyes when reading some of these boards. Can't we all get along? Do you know that children learn what they see? Now, I know that I am not perfect by far. Nor will I say I am. However, we are adults. We need to show our children that there are better ways to settle a problem. Something better than name calling and possible fist fights. We are a bunch of people that live in the same neighborhood. I have read in the newsletter that we get the golden rule that I teach my children. ''Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.'' I know my children are going by this rule. My daughter saved a four year old girl from drowning last year. This to me showed me that I am doing something right for the future generation. However, I am not the only adult living. Let's stop the name calling. Don't yell at the Yankees, Rebels, or lawyers. This is silly. No, we are all not going to agree on something. However, we need to do something. I myself, have pulled over several times, when spotting a garbage can rolling around in the road. I may not live next to you, but we live in the same neighborhood. My parents only live about five miles away. And their neighborhood is great. They all care about each other, and help each other. For an example. One of their neighbors was rushed to the hospital. The WHOLE block pitched in and helped out the spouse that was left at home. Whenever someone goes away, the neighbors watch out for each other. Picking up the newspaper, pet sitting and so on. Why can't we do the same. Yes, we have stressful lives. Why continue the stress with the neighborhood? Let's welcome our new neighbors when they come. Give them a basket of food or give them a small plant. These things are cheap to come by, but yet making the new neighbor feel very welcomed. When there is a neighborhood party, and you see someone you don't know, walk up and welcome them. Get to know them. Make them feel welcomed. Last Halloween, I went to my first neighborhood party. I wanted to get to know a few people. However, I sat there, with my children and no one approached me. After my children were in bed, and my husband home. I returned to the party. I tried to make some small talk. But people didn't just went on their way. I only had one person come up to me to chat. I believe she is the vice president of the association. A very nice lady.

I have noticed that several people don't sign their posts. I am not ashamed of how I feel. I will sign mine and include my e-mail. Just to prove that there is a neighbor who does in fact CARE. Please keep in mind that I am not trying to offend anyone. And if you did get offended by my posts, I apologize. I just wanted to share my feeling for the past year I have lived here. Thank you for your time.
