Air soft guns
Who is complaining? My kids play with the same air soft guns. As a matter of fact - there are many boys in the neighborhood who play with them. As long as they are wearing protective goggles and not shooting at other people or their property, dogs, cats..etc...I don't see where the harm is. Boys will be boys. By TCB |

I'm not complaining
Hey.. Back in the 50's and 60's befor the Politically Correctness Garbage came to. I used to play cops and robbers using what is not a very taboo item for ''normal American boys'' play with... A Plastic 38 revolver. And oh.... it even had plastic bullets in the chambers being spring loaded. Guess what... I never murdered any one nor went to prision. One for my parents, huh? So... Let the kids play and develope what is ''NORMAL''. |

They are not TOYS, they are GUNS
I'm not complaining about the USE of the guns. Growing up my dad was an avid deer and turkey hunter. He had many rifles and a pistol, and my brother had a bb gun and a 22 caliber shot gun. The guns were kept in a locked gun cabinet and only used under my dad's supervision. He taught my brother the safe way to handle a gun. We were allowed to go in the field behind our house and shoot the guns at paper targets and at coke cans, under my dad's supervision. If we shot an animal, we had to clean it and eat it. We were taught that you dont shoot animals just to shoot them, you hunt for food. We were also taught to respect others and their property. We were taught not to point the gun at anyone, or anyone else's property. Guns are guns and they can hurt people and damage property when used inappropriately. Please dont refer to them as Toys. Toy guns do not require ammunition that can penetrate. Toy guns use caps or foam 'bullets'. BB's and pellets are ammunition. BB guns and Pellet guns are not toys, they are in fact,GUNS. You do not PLAY with GUNS. I do not have a problem with kids having target practice with small guns such as those, so long as they are supervised by an adult and keep it in the fields. Its when people refer to them as TOYS and let their kids 'Play' with them UNSUPERVISED inside the neighborhood that I have a problem with. Someone, and I have no idea who, 'PLAYED' with their 'Toy' gun and shot out the windows of cars in the neighborhood. A BB was found in the front seat of one of the cars. If you are going to allow your kids to use guns, please be responsible and teach them the appropriate way of handling them. Teach them that they are, in fact, GUNS and they are not to be PLAYED with. And please supervise them when they are using the guns, and keep the guns in a locked cabinet when you are not able to supervise them. This prevents them from 'Accidentally' hurting someone while 'Playing' with the 'Toy', and prevents them from damaging anyone's property. That is all we ask. |
