How are people getting away with NOT paying the HOA ???? I find that a little unfair for those of us that do pay it. And why should those of us who do pay it have to suffer for those who don't by not getting things done, I understand the economy is in VERY poor shape which is affecting us all but it seems unfair for someone to ask for the color of the paint for the outside be told that it's the HOA responsibility but it's not high on the priority list. Wow... please let me know when the next meeting is cause I really need to get involved around here, perhaps I can help....

There are people who are never paid their HOA. We may have to do what Live Oak did (Like Oak is a sister community along with Tampa Bay Golf and Country), they cut their contract with Brighthouse for that same reason. So each individual house had to get their own TV service so that the people who did not pay their HOA no longer got TV service. I am not sure how long our contract is or what our repercussions would be in cutting the contract. It is sad that the people who pay can not get done what they are entitled to but it does come down to the money that is brought in quarterly for the HOA fees. A large majority of the HOA money goes to just replacing damages caused by people, one big example is the gates that have continuously been getting run into. Each time they get fixed it is a couple thousand dollars. Also, the dumpster in Oakwood Village is often cluttered with garbage outside of the actual structure. We've had to pay a company to come once a week and remove the trash outside from people.

More representation at the meeting and more neighbor involvement is exactly what this neighborhoor needs to reach its potential. The next meeting is yet to be announced, however, it will be in October. Lee Polk, our CAM, does not have to post it until 48 hours notice. The posting site is located by the pool area in Brentwood Village. However, I try to e-mail her when I know a meeting is upcoming for her to just give me the date so I can put it on here to let people know so they can get involved. Have a great day and I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting Laughing
