Might help the morale and postings on this site if that information were made available on the site and to the neighborhood at large. I had no idea those things had happened. Where do you get your info?

a.   I like to be part of the solution, so I volunteer.

b.   A coworker lives on Missle & was an eye witness.

--That's great! I'm housebound, so I can't. I rely on this site to give me information.

b. A coworker lives on Missle & was an eye witness.

--Maybe, since you volunteer and have personal access to people "in the know," you could suggest that this kind of information be published somewhere.

Thanks!

@Faith62:

I posted a link to some screen caps of some video of a smaller hog in an earlier topic, way back in June, before reporting it to the HOA. The funny thing is when I reported the 300lb hog to SAPD, the night I saw it, the very nice Officer, who responded to the call, told me that he would be unable to shoot it. He said the most he could do is yell at it over his PA speaker. Now, I wonder if that had anything to do with being on our private streets?

Regarding the improvements, I would never pass judgment unless I found out something unscrupulous occurred in awarding the contract. However, I'm sure all our board members are on the up and up and would never use assessments as a source of income, no legal definition implied, for themselves or friends. I'm just glad something finally got done about the feral hogs.

That part of your comment about finding what you're looking for whether it be the bad or the good has less to do with being part of a solution as it does with turning a blind eye to accountability. Following the rules goes both ways. Just ask any resident that has been harassed by the HOA for non-existent violations or for the same things others are never challenged for. You volunteer your time your way, and I'll volunteer my time my way. It's amazing how discriminatory some people are, it‘s like some folks get all their exercise from jumping to conclusions.

The gate is not at all effective at keeping potential criminals out, and because of this, some residents think, it would be better to remove the gate and dedicate the streets open for use by the general public, if that's what it takes, so that we can keep people safe from drivers who disregard traffic laws. I think residents are more concerned with keeping their kids safe, while they play outside, than they are about maintaining the gate, it's for this reason I "volunteered" to post this topic. If it turns out residents want to keep the gate that's great, but the choice and power belong to the residents. Personally, I think most residents view the gate as a nuisance, and potential criminals view it as a mild obstacle.
