Your new Board of Directors invites you to the Tool Yard for a Towne Hall style meeting to hear & discuss our progress on the lake & other topics.   We will be having a presentation by two realtors who feel that our lake has a positive influence on all our property values regardless of whether you live on or off the lake.

Your opinions, concerns & observations are appreciated.

Kevin Ott

I would like to remind everyone that San Antonio City Manager Sheryl Sculley made the official declaration of Stage One water restrictions on April 10.

Stage One of the city's drought plan is triggered when the level of the Edwards Aquifer drops to 660 feet. And, according to the city's Aquifer Management Plan ordinance, the level must stay above 660 ft. for 30 days to end Stage One water restrictions.

As part of stage one, "aesthetic water features" - outdoors or indoors - is prohibited, unless a variance has been granted for 100 percent non-potable water use.
Has anyone called SAWS to discuss what the definition of "water features" is? SAWS Conservation Department at 704-SAVE.

The board should consider multiple perspectives in malking their decisions. So why not have a represenative from SAWS at our next meeting?

Good point.  SAWS does not have any jurisdiction over our lake since the water is drawn from our well, presumably the Edwards Aquifer.  Our Edwards Aquifer compliance officer, Earl Parker,  was at the February meeting.  Remember, SAWS is the Edwards Aquifer Authorities largest customer.  I believe they own over 50% of all water rights of the Edwards Aquifer.

I think it's a great idea to have a counter point at our May meeting.  If you would like to make the case, please show up at the April meeting and request time at the May meeting.

Fair & balanced discussions are good for everyone.

Life interfered, and we weren't able to make the meeting this month. How did everything go?? Very interested in the water discussion. Thanks :)
