Salado Creek work

Posted in: Towne Lake Garden

 Towne Lake Residents,

It's not often that Webby gets involved in discussions but on occasion I will initiate one if it affects the entire neighborhood.

Does anyone have any information on what is going on down on Salado Creek bed?

The city is building a bike trail, or, rather, extending it. I beleive at a cost of $ 1,000,000 per mile.

I agree with coop, the project is probably the extension of the Salado Trails project.  I had read that the city cost is about $1,000,000 per mile, too.

But I  had also read that the city was not going to continue the "mid" Salado trail until the Wurzbach Parkway had been completed to avoid construction, destruction, and reconstruction.

Good news, we are on a bike trail...another ammenity.  Bad news, some residents will have to deal with people right behind their fence now.

Gee! Another stroke of genius development by our city council.  Lets build a hike and bike trail in a flood zone! Should we ever get rain again in the amounts that are normal to the area, (in some years, not this one) The million $ or so that it will take to pave etc. this area will be long gone by time the water recedes.  Anyone who is interested should probably jot a note to the city council and our district rep.
