Wow. If this is a "friendly" discussion, God protect us all from open hostility!
First, every good discussion group/site has a Moderator whose job it is to make sure communication and discussion stays focused on principles (issues, concerns, kudos, problems) rather than personalities (personal attacks because of race, religion, country of national origin, gender preference, legal status or any other no-nos intended to demean or degrade an individual).
In my opinion, the present Moderator has done a sterling job in managing the site. We have a solid venue for communication with each other. I know Webby to be a gentleman of integrity, honor, ethics and civility. Both he and his spouse are in education and one could not ask for better neighbors. His former position on the BOD is irrelivent; some 11 years ago when I first moved here from the farm, I served on the Board and it was a terrible experience because of the ways in which people treated each other. Does this former status mean I no longer have a voice? No.
Let us all keep in mind that anything posted on the internet at any site is forever. Even "deleted" items are never deleted. If we can't argue our point within the bounds of being good citizens, perhaps we can do it because it won't ever go away. Or perhaps some things should not be shared. Not every thought has to be posted!
I would like to see this site and forum remain as is--if it ain't broke; don't fix it.
