don't understand that new math

I wonder about something. Are there any other outdoors pools in the Austin area that are heated during the winter months? I am probably wrong, but I always thought that heaters on outdoor pools were only to extend the season a few months each year. How many residents use the pool from November thru March? Who is mostly using the pool during the winter months? I am guessing that about $80,000 to$90,000. could be saved by closing during the winter months. Also, the $75000.00 heater would probably not have had to been replaced so soon if it had only been used to extend the season. Of course we would not want to close during the winter and loose all that income . Lets see?… Save say 85K, loose 10k income = ummmmmm must be doing something wrong.. Must be new math or something. Must be me?…. Mamma always said stupid is......

Standing by my but...

(heh heh, sorry if subject line offends any small children reading this!)

My statement was:
''...but it is a lot of reading and really needs to be methodically compiled. Maybe (I hope) there is a committee working on that.''

If you wish to debate statement, have at it.

I agree with you that this data should be available to all homeowners in it's entirety. If your allegations about this information being confidential per our BOD are true, then I agree that is a troubling policy.

You wrote:
''This BOD ''confidential'' information proves that the neighborhood simply does not want the Swim Team using our pool.''

You may be right, but it is not obviously ''proven'' to me just by skimming through all those comments. I need a summary before I conclude that(see my first point). Many comments were for removing/reducing swim team access, many were about other aspects of rec facilities. Very few were ''pro-Swim team''. Based on reviewing all the data, it may be clear that the HOA should vote on any future contracts w/CC Swimming.

Not sure if you are trying to lump me with the pro-Swim Team folks, but that would be incorrect. I think they cause more than $10K of inconvenience. Others may disagree and that's okay with me.

Mike,

Mike,

I apologize for lumping you in with the Swim Team.

Since you actually had a dialog with me about an actual subject, I can clearly see you are not connected to the team. The few ''Swim Team Moms'' can't seem to debate any issues, but instead try to detract attention from the issues. For example: I'm surprised that they didn't freak out when we both used the word ''but'' in our last post.

I appreciate your reply. Based on your comments, I also realize that we share more common ground than I would have thought from your first post. Thanks for taking your time and posting with your issue based reply. I am always willing to debate any of the posts I make.

By the way, did you know I offered TOTAL CONTROL of this site to Ken Rigsbee and the CCHOA in February. They quickly said NO, and soon after sent threats of a lawsuit to neighborhhodlink, myself and the advertisers of the site. The formal resolution the BOD produced demanded that the site be shut down immediately.

Why would the BOD decline the opportunity for the TOTAL CONTROL of a free neighborhood communication tool? Why would they rather shut it down?

Pot calling the kettle...

Sal,

You just accused the swim moms of being emotional and ''can't seem to debate any issues, but instead try to detract attention from the issues''. Then you turn around and start talking abou the fact that this website was offered to the Circle C HOA which has nothing to really do with this thread that was going on about the pool??

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that I can't really blame them for turning it down. Reading it is not always informative, you really have to dig through the emotional crap.
