"I know you are skeptical about door to door but if you look for the bad in any company you will find it, try not to be so paranoid. "

I'm not being paranoid.  His 'pitch' and the way he kept insisting that I let him in my house and being so eager to run a credit check on me just made me very uncomfortable.  If he truly was going to give me a 'free' system with 'free' monitoring as he said he was, then there is no need to run a credit check on me since I will not have to be paying for the system.  The deal he was pitching was because I have a prime, high traffic corner lot that is ideal for posting their signs he would give me a free system with free monitoring.  If its all free, there is no need to run a credit check and I am not giving my ss# to some dude that knocks on my door.  And if he was going to give me a free system there is no need for him to come into my home to look at my existing system.  And he was very persistant about coming into my house and me giving him my credentials to run a credit check.  That just made me uncomfortable, not paranoid.

I dont need a new system, the one I have is fine and I have never had any problems with monitronics in the 15 years I've been with them.

This same guy came by my house (I too have a corner lot) and gave me the identical memorized sales pitch.  When I told him I just upgraded my ADT system, he started getting aggressive about coming into my house to inspect my existing system.  When I told him I had the flu he still demanded to come into my house and inspect my existing system.   I guess he was up on his flu shots and is on 100% commission.

The problem I've had with alarm companies is most use independent contractors to install systems and not all of these independent contractors have the same level of competency.
